States Newsroom's @chatlanis.bsky.social interviewed @nyccomptroller.bsky.social @bradlander.bsky.social at the #NoKings protest in New York City.

Listen to his thoughts on what he believes lawmakers should be focusing on right now.
Ooof! #3 is my nightmare too!
The actual horror is that because I live in a really old and not-particularly spider-proof house despite my best efforts, that could be a regular Tuesday.

Relatedly, yes, I have high blood pressure!🤣🤣🤣
1. Every person who plays on repeat on my cringe memory list and they're all staring wordlessly at me.

2. Surround sound speakers that play creepy sounds on repeat without hitting crescendo

3. Room with lights that blink out and every time they come on a single huge spider is in a different spot.
Steven Miller is afraid of chalk.
“White House deputy chief of staff Stephen and his podcaster wife, Katie Miller, have fled their Arlington home after peaceful chalk messages were left on the sidewalk.“
Now imagine if armed, masked men were hunting you and your family like animals.

SEE? SEE?

THIS IS WHY THIS MAN CANNOT BE A VIABLE CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!
Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have required insurers to cover, and pharmacists to dispense, 12 months of hormone therapy at one time to transgender patients and others.

Evidently, I get to be the scold today, but there are so many things to write on a sign, using his body to mock him is NOT okay.

People with all types of bodies will be marching tomorrow. Our objective isn't to make those people feel bad.

I expect this from Kimmel. Do better @indivisible.org .
A few weeks ago I was going thru old papers of mine from school and tucked in there was a profile of Mario Cuomo from Psychology Today in 1986 where he talked about how important the immigrant community is to NY and how much he felt part of it.
Oof, this bit of truth took my breath away for a second.
The united states are remaking themselves into a union, since the previous Union is being dissolved.
15 US states and territories have formed a new Public Health Alliance, which will counter the absence of federal leadership by tracking outbreaks, issuing guidance, buying vaccines and more.

Members of the new alliance include CA, CO, CT, DE, GU, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, OR, RI, WA.
Maybe we should just outlaw accounting and replace it exclusively with math.
I'm sorry, I thought the Great Shake Out was supposed to be a test.

Very realistic. 0/10. Did not like.
Accessibility is the thing that stops me from hating this at 100%. I hold steady at 95% though.
If I pretend for a second this is a good idea (it's not), I've got enough experience writing Excel macros and business requirements to know how few people can articulate what they want the computer to *do*.

I hate this AND it's a terrible business idea.
Look, I'm no policy wonk, but it sure seems to me that vetoing a bill to improve menopause care across the state would be a really dumb thing to do if you aren't looking to piss off an entire swath of people who are already pretty fucking pissed.

As ever, Newsom's gonna Newsom.
Not every bill the Legislature passes makes it past the governor's desk. Here's what Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed this session. https://cal.news/4nOLXff

I've had my eye on this but I'd want migraine specific research. Either way, I've generically put brain/migraine in the legal documents separate from the organ donor clause.

Wait. TWENTY SEVEN! I thought there were 5. When did the other 22 happen?

We need a better media ecosystem.
The President’s authorities under Article II are limited to responding to an armed attack/the threat of one and do not apply here.

These continued strikes — 27 killed to date — risk getting the U.S. into a full fledged war.
I have but my methods aren't foolproof.

For pjs I only buy 100% cotton and shrink in hot water. For regular pants, I've been buying some cropped pants in tall length to average into a full length pant. It's a 50/50 result but that means I'm not hemming everything.

It's a drag. Literally.
First thing I thought of when he said that!
Did I buy an inflatable frog costume? Don't be ridiculous - I'm post menopausal and have temperature requirements that are wildly outside that type of outfit.

Now, if you ask me if I bought a T-shirt with a frog riding a bicycle on it?

That might be a different answer...🤷‍♀️
Remembering the mommy blogs coming out of SV in the early aughts and yes, ALWAYS.
That's one of those movies that I don't plan to watch but then it's on, then I convince myself I won't cry, and then every.damn.time.

It's going to be a bit before I watch it again now
