I think what yesterday’s news taught me is that while I knew there were 2 realities in this country, I truly thought Kirk was a fringe figure even on the right. Seeing that he’s apparently mainstream to them now is really my big takeaway and is just stunning to me that that’s who they all are.

Why not just say "poor people who are going hungry," the way Democrats used to say it? Why is this so enraging? Talk to people in terms they understand, instead of terms that do little more than signal that you went to college?
Can you explain why food insecurity is a problem? It seems like a good description for the situation millions find themselves enduring.
