Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

A human hand, presumably regular sized, as in not some inhuman giant hand or anything, just a regular normal hand, and in it is held three baby turtles OMG they are so cute they aren't even as wide as a single finger! Just tiny little guys! Can you believe it??? They look very sincere and polite I wish I could feed them little leaves or other turtle food. They are adorable and you love them. 🔫👀 Say you love them. Say it.

It's more that they see life as meaningless - a man game they can't win & get enough domination status in, so they decide destroying people & themselves is a last act of the natural impulse of destruction. Or something, they aren't very clear. But gun culture in the U.S. means they can carry it out.

"Factual" doing a lot of heavy lifting there. They still slant on news & features. They've gone through multiple EICs & Lachlan's been purging key folk for last 2 years. The WSJ was bought to be a rival to the NYT & they use it as a warning shot when they want to rein in RW pols.

Ah, the answer to my question a month ago. Charming that they found someone even worse than Kirk as the replacement. Also, more tied into the Trump admin directly than Kirk was.

Ok, I've had enough Kirk drama. What's more key now is, who's going to be running TurningPointUSA, which the Kochs fund? Which of the other Echo propagandists is going to try & grab Kirk's money sources & audience base? Murder or not, Kirk was disposable, replaceable to the Right. So who's next?

It sounds like they're still involved w/ News Corp, the parent company, but have left the board of sub company Fox which handles the media arm, for a billion & change each. The irrevocable trust was apparently revocable.

This is also where the "virtue signaling" stuff comes from. they can't imagine a white person could authentically be anti-racist or a man could be an authentic feminist. Therefore, if you're an anti-racist white person or feminist man, you must be doing it for some other reason.

But it's an "elegant" hallucination. (As opposed to my system of a Word doc list updated & printed twice a month & my kid's leftover school notebooks for written weekly & daily lists, a wall calender pinned to the wall & half a dozen post-it pads & notepads I scribble info on.)

Lachlan won the court battle for control of Fox Corp & paid his siblings off end of last year. So no, WSJ has no independence. This is either a hamfisted attempt to flatter the richies who read it or a warning shot. Trump is suing WSJ despite his Fox personnel, so maybe that or a beef against Cuomo.
