Remember when there was briefly chatter (I think related to that one north korean hollywood hack?) of a jump street/men in black crossover?
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

New chapter of BAD DREAM up on reddit. This one, all told, is a pretty normal chapter where normal things happen. www.reddit.com/r/redditseri... #Horror #BookSky #WriteSky

I dont agree with every placement but wow, what a respectable list.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

Or it's just a movie that is definitely unique amongst the group with clear highs and lows that shouldn't be ignored in either direction.

I like Rogue One, as like, the action-packed feature-length finale to Andor, but the criticisms are correct. As a standalone film, it's best as cool background noise honestly.
me, apparently an adult disney guy: "this entry in star wars might have some enjoyable fan service fails on the most basic levels of story, character, and the actual construction of the film."

you, a cineaste: lasers go pew pew
Adult Disney ass Star Wars take.

i think the problem is really bigger than this, and that its really that even the non manosphere scripts just amount to a softer version of it.
To my mind, I think the core of the problem is that greater - if still imperfect - gender equality allowed women access to more 'life scripts' as it were, but society mostly still presents men with just one script and that script poorly and incompletely.

So some men are fine and many are adrift.

I don’t physically describe my characters, in the context of my writing that information is thematically and emotionally useless. The protagonist of BAD DREAM, Colin, is lifted by his hair a few times, so presumably he has haor long enough to grab. #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompt
Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters

Here's an appearance one that I don't think we've talked about yet: What does your character's hair look like?

Do they have hair? Long or short? What color? How do they usually wear it? Is it important to them?

CIVIL WAR (2024): I liked it! The main story can feel a bit too arc-y at times, where you know exactly what's going to happen because the character arcs are so inelegantly foreshadowed. But I liked the concept that, amidst the carnage, life mostly stays the same through sheer inertia.

Hell yeah bro, we did it. Imagine being nature right now, just taking L after L to humanity, the winningest species in history.

I see "moderate" all the time with black women, if anything's listed at all.
Honestly seen it more often with East Asian women than white dudes, which is interesting

Home Alone makes changes to the Die Hard formula that render it hard for me to enjoy. The McClain character should feel overawed. And in theory having Kevin be a child versus adults achieves that. But the thing is: Kevin is a god. It's not just Tom & Jerry. This is some random punks versus Anansi.

Lol imagine being thiiiiiiis close to being right but ending being so wrong in an insane direction (year-round DST is where it's at).
🎵 “We need to abolish DST. Keep Standard Time! It’s a practice so harmful and obsolete. Keep Standard Time! No more debating. Keep Standard Time!” 🎶

I don’t know if I've ever heard Free Bird? I mean, I most certainly have, but I am unable to hum or sing it, and if you played me several Skynard songs with jumbled lyrics and told me to identify which was Free Bird, I don’t think I would succeed. I know it's the meme song that people yell at bands.

When I was a property manager there was an old Somali woman who lived in the building who didnt speak a word of English and was too old to learn. My coworkers saw her as a problem because whenever she showed up to the office they didn't know how to solve her issues.

Could you let him die but then CPR him back to life? Does humanity’s salvation work on Final Destination rules?

It's great actually because whenever I want to write something fucked I can simply go "that book's classic and it has a thing that's way more fucked, I'm innocent actually."
I do not do horror, that is not my genre, I have never done horror be it film or book, I have no desire to ever do horror, let that be the context for this post:

the fuck do you mean a key plot point of King’s novel ‘It’ involves a bunch of kids running a train on another kid

Heretic (2024): what if the the world's most annoying reddit atheist were a horror villain? The movie is a little unclear whether Grant's character is meant to be an evil genius or a stupid, pompous blowhard, but Chloe East delivers one of the better performances I've seen this year?

Woke 2 is one of those sequels that is clearly superior to the original.
