As for the sculptors, they got paid, they'll continue to get paid, this has almost nothing to do with them. This is a corporation protecting their IP, their right to do. But I don't care about Corporate IP law. I do care about cool models;so it's easy for me.

Good to know it can't be used as legal precedent. But I still think GW is going to use it as a precedent to decide what they can sue 3D printing companies over. How boxy can a tank be before it's copyright infringement? Let's find out.

There is also early Irish literature about female pissing contests. In the story "Aided Derbforgaill" several women compete to see who can urinate deepest into a pile of snow. The winner is Derbforgaill, wife of Lugaid Riab nDerg, but the other women attack her out of jealousy and mutilate her by gouging out her eyes and cutting off her nose, ears, and hair, resulting in her death. Her husband Lugaid also dies, from grief, and Cú Chulainn avenges the deaths by demolishing a house with the women inside, killing 150.

I can only speak from my own experience, but stepping outside the GW bubble has made me realize I was getting hosed. In terms of cost, rules, and even model quality. The models are great, but also they're a nightmare to paint because they're so detailed.

Also not for nothing, but GW selling point has long been "premium models". And say what you will about the sculpts, I wouldn't call them premium models.

Apparently that's how copyright law is phrased in Italy. But honestly it doesn't move the needle for me. Because 1)They'll still treat this as precedent. 2) If I'm choosing between the multi million dollar company and guy making 3d prints I know whose side I'm on.

It goes beyond the floor staff, all the ex GW YouTubers have the same complaint in common, they were paid shit and promised exposure. And then when Duncan cashed that check, well we all know how that played out.

I think in the legal battle between the multi million dollar company selling stupidly priced models and the guy selling 3D prints I'm on the side of the guy selling 3D prints. If you're at risk of losing serious money to the knock offs, maybe investigate your business model.

I've never accepted that argument, because it's been a long known "secret" that GW underpays their employees. And they're not a struggling company barely making a profit. They're one of the biggest companies in the UK, they can take the hit on models.

Back in the good ol days of Twitter I got shouted down every time I mentioned this with price hikes. That every price hike was someone getting pushed out of the hobby. I do wonder if we've finally reached that tipping point for people.
