That essays like this need to be written makes me so sad, but I'm glad for people who write them like @lollardfish.bsky.social.

No two ways about it: Hate symbols are hate symbols. Hate is hate. Racism is racism. And so on.

Danielle Smith is delivering her keynote address to the UCP Convention at 10am. Based on the reception that she had yesterday, I will be watching the crowd as much as the speaker.

the hardest part of writing politically charged fiction is that a good villain needs to be complex, cool and about as right as the protagonist; while evil people in real life are lame, cruel, childish morons motivated by greed or not wanting to look at minorities

I've had cars that ran quieter than this.
Look at Cayenne, purring up a storm and being delightful.

This morning he has totally caved and is headbutting me and requesting head kisses.

Oh my...
Dear English speaking WWII nerd using terms from other languages:

I know they’re homonyms said out loud, but you’ve got a real autocorrect and/or brain problem if you are using the terms “Shoah” and “Showa” interchangeably. Stop it.

I had a thought. I've been questioned many times, why I put Trinidadian dialect in my novella that is set centuries in the future.

The main refrain was, wouldn't that have been phased out?
And my thought was...would ppl make the same comment if I had used latin? or something latin sounding?

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have made a HUGE breakthrough towards a UNIVERSAL antiviral. By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that SHARE structural similarities, they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses.

There is only one way in which that comparison could be considered remotely good for you, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your actions.
If someone compares you to Jason Isaacs in The Patriot, you know you have done something truly horrendous.
Ordering no quarter, as Hegseth effectively did, isn't a newfangled modern war crime. It was understood as a crime as far back as the Revolutionary War. Washington threatened to do reprisals over it. The bad guy in 'The Patriot' is (very loosely) based off a British officer who was notorious for it.

C'mon. I need my shop to finish my oil change so I have an excuse to leave work early. I was hoping to be out of here an hour ago.
Brain is so fried at this point that they're just paying me to hang out and read fanfic. (Not that I totally object to that, but I'd rather do it at home sans pants)

Welcome to the Streisand Effect.
odd though - I'm surprised he wants to draw attention to it starting in 2018

have you noticed how Nigel Farage skips straight from Nathan Gill being in UKIP to Nathan Gill being in Reform UK?

not a word about Nathan Gill joining the Brexit Party and being a Brexit Party MEP and GE2019 candidate

At least they're fixing the problem *before* it becomes a Problem?
This is pretty massive.

There is scant detail so far but they say "solar radiation" has caused problems for some aircraft.

This *could* be related to single-event upsets, where cosmic rays trigger computer errors. I've asked Airbus if they can share more detail.
