It’s not like the disabled and/or elderly need video visits more than any—

oh wait yes they fucking do

In case you haven’t seen an enlongated/articulated/accordian/bendy bus, it’s one of these gargantuan motherfuckers. They’re 60 feet long
Overhead view of a CTA articulated bus, making a right turn. The center of the bus has a pivot that makes it move in a manner similar to two train cars. The pivot point has accordion-style sides, thus the name.

You can grab a handle and stand in the pivot. I did it a couple times and it was scary af, not gonna lie. Those accordion walls do not feel particularly sturdy.

I am particularly amazed at this shit, where they knocked the bumper off a parked car and nearly hit an enlongated bus.

A woman looks on as a vehicle is towed away following an accident reportedly involving federal agents detaining two people near intersection of Foster and Lincoln in Chicago, Oct. 10, 2025. (Antonio Perez/Chicago Tribune)

The man who was already detained in the van did not identify himself, Thomas said.
Once Brockman was handcuffed and placed in the van, the agents pulled out, clipping the rear bumper off of a stopped car partially blocking their path and speeding away past an approaching elongated CTA bus and through the busy intersection.

Smart move by Brockman.

Incredibly stupid move by the gestapo
From the article:

Debbie Brockman, who has worked as a producer for WGN since 2011, according to her LinkedIn profile, was taken to the ground face down on Foster Avenue and handcuffed while stopped cars honked and onlookers shouted epithets such as "fascists" at the two federal agents detaining her.

[paragraph highlighted by me:]

The woman identified herself as working at WGN and asked an onlooker taking a video to "let them know" before she was hauled off by the agents in an unmarked silver van with New Jersey plates.

Remember how Chicago is full of very nice people, but if you fuck around you’re going to find out?

WGN aired Cubs games from 1948 until 2014

With Harry Caray calling most of them

WGN is as Chicago as the Sears Tower.
WGN-TV producer detained during ICE enforcement action in Lincoln Square
A WGN-TV video editor and producer was roughly detained by two Border Patrol agents on Friday morning during a highly visible rush hour enforcement action in Lincoln Square.

I’m sure this will play well in Peoria
A note from MyChart:

Video Visit Announcement
Due to the federal government shutdown, Medicare and Medicaid patients are unable to schedule new telehealth/video visits. If you already have a visit scheduled, it will continue as planned. If not, contact your doctor's office to schedule an in-person appointment.

You may wonder what esoteric, lofty law class I learned this in.

That class is “Introduction to Legal Research and Writing”

which is the equivalent to a 100 level class in the 2-year paralegal program at my local community college

This is called a Terry stop. Just like Miranda rights, it’s a concept so fundamental to policing that the phrase for stopping someone is named after this guy.

Not that the police listen but hey, now you know
reasonable suspicion

I see someone has never heard of a Terry stop 🙃
hellonerds.bsky.social
Hey I can make you smarter than this broad in one post! “Reasonable suspicion” has an *actual legal definition* that does not include guys on bikes, roofers, or ESPECIALLY parent pickup lines.

Now you know about another crime ICE is committing! Yaaaay!

i hate it here
hellonerds.bsky.social
I just point at the video of them chasing down the guy on a bike because he happened to ride past

omg congrats!! I have been VERY out of the loop on this one but I’m gonna buy the shit out of it😂💖

Even more important: there’s a little grocery store at Park Millennium to save everyone staying at one of the hotels like $50 for food
