They're still out there. The goofs and spoofs. If we can only find them.

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

I won’t buy Bluey is relatable, realistic content until Bluey’s dad just leaves Bluey in front of an episode of Bluey.

Looked under the dust jacket of La Belle Sauvage and was amused to find that there is no title and instead a quote on the spine.

This has some of the more annoying paywall ux I’ve seen, so I don’t know if they scrutinise this claim here, but I will note a general asymmetry - most tech leaders understand it is their job to lie to the tech media for marketing juice, and most tech media do not seem to understand this.

As the perfect #ValentinesDay gift this beautiful little ring is now on display at MAA. Since filming our Archaeology team have carried out further research and now think the inscription inside reads ‘As I prove I wish your love’ - what do you think?

Something that has been noodling around after I finished Frederica: how positively domestic it is. There is no question of how the romance translates into post-married life, because the domesticity is the romance. Women want one thing (and it's shared family labour).
Frederica by Georgette Heyer. My favourite of her books so far: lively leads, convincing chemistry, raced through it. Perhaps a little of the repetitive plot points her books have suffered from before, but I enjoyed it too much to care.

Went for 4 pints each at the Live and Let Live and got a kebab on the way home. A+ would date again.
This is an unapologetically sappy feel-good subject (at least, I guess, for people in a happy relationship”). So, to prepare for Valentine’s Day, what did you and your partner do for a first date?

My wife and I went to tea at Huntington Gardens and walked around.
On our first date, my spouse and I spent like an hour talking about footnotes.

"Does the role really require a woman?"

"No?"

"Or youth?"

"Er... No?"

"Is being royal or nobility a must?"

The dragon hesitated. "It's traditional..."

"We can mention that it's a position traditionally filled by a princess," the HR consultant said, "but we do welcome all applicants."

"Okay."
