Navy recruitment ad just ran with the tagline: “You can be smart. Or you can be nuke smart.”

They’re clearly letting Hegseth write the marketing copy now…

Absolutely not.

Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”

I’ve been enjoying This Guy Sucked lately.

I'm becoming a regular at a local diner, and it's my favorite. Solid black coffee, friendly wait staff, humorous eavesdropping. And I'm actually productive getting work done here. I need them to love me back (jk, feelings are gross... calling me "hon" is enough).

Listen. ONE of the reasons I rock with Dolly (Capricorn Gang) is because she’s always proven to me that integrity may cause you pain, but it will never be the reason you suffer. Which is not to say that suffering won’t come, but it’ll never be because you abandoned yourself. That’ll keep you going.

I’d call it light fantasy (gods + magic + zombie-like creatures) with cozy mystery vibes. Enemies to lovers + secret pen pals. Open door but low smut. She’s a sunny, oldest daughter undertaker and he’s a grumpy ranger w/ a goofy partner. Macabre but not dark. Good character devt. Very cute.

I don’t know if you enjoy romance, but I recently finished The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy and it was delightful. And very October.

Damn it, I’m almost out of Taskmaster seasons.

When people make me the problem like that, I tend to retreat or focus where things feel less fraught. If they’re determined I’m the problem, then I’m going to keep doing what I think is right b/c they aren’t likely to change their minds. It doesn’t help, of course… but I’m stubborn, haha.

Ugh that’s tough. I feel like half those issues aren’t actually about the info but about personality and how they wish I acted (i.e., like they do). If they actually wanted a functional solution, they would identify ways they could adjust to help and not just demand that I change.

I don’t know if it’s a true 7 thing. But I (a 5) had a 7 CEO who was obsessed with transparency (well… when he found it convenient). I got accused of negativity and gate keeping often, even when I simply suggested that we needed to give people context alongside information.

It’s more often flavor. But when it is texture, the revulsion goes even deeper. Still argue with my mom that my powdered sugar hatred is flavor not texture, lol.

Cottage cheese is disgusting, but I don’t like milk or most yogurt. I like mushrooms generally, but sometimes they get too earthy.

Naive of me, I’m sure, but I was not prepared for integrity to be this optional / apparently unnecessary… just across the board…

Godson was making up names for the group today - others got Stop, Sneezy, and Mad. I got Chill. “Cause you’re just always chill.” I feel good about this.

Right?! Like when I am tempted to skip (or when I succumb to it), it’s almost always to get past something else and TO the dialogue. It’s where everything happens!

Asked my dad for a lawyer recommendation for something. Reached out to the lawyer explaining what I needed. Lawyer responded: “Your dad gave you good advice in telling you to talk to a lawyer.”

Sir.

Finally made cookies today with the butter I set out [redacted] days ago. I didn’t check the chocolate chip stash, so they have equal parts milk, semi-sweet, and mini dark chips. Still didn’t reach two cups, so I threw in the end of the chopped pecans. I’ve made worse decisions.

I’ve had Solar Opposites playing in the background while I work, and it is really great for only catching snippets. I get bits of dialogue that make absolutely no sense but they’re hilarious.

Today is one of those rare days where I wish I was still in one of the group chats from my defense consulting days. Gah, the jokes would have been incredible.

Article. I can read faster than any YouTuber can speak, even with the playback speed cranked up to comical levels.
