I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

His mistake is assuming that the "expertise and skills" the centrist think tank is looking for have anything to do with personal morality or societal advancement.
I refuse to believe that Larry Summers' expertise and skills are indispensable in any way. Please find another economist and policy expert, @americanprogress.bsky.social. There are loads out there.

At risk of stating the obvious, the "economics mentor" highlight distracts from what he immediately says next.

He is going to "cut off contact."

Which is to say he is withdrawing professional support because she declined to fuck him.

In 2005, Summers said women aren't as mentally equipped to be scientists as men (link below). Harvard didn't fire his ass then.

Now in this 2017 email, he's making an insufferable, faux-clever "joke" about women's supposedly inferior IQ.

He's been garbage for decades.

Puzzling that the centrist pundits who are arguing for a "big tent" Democratic Party are the same people who spend all their time on social media attacking the left. The Venn diagram of these two groups is practically a circle.
Meanwhile, if you take Dems and subtract the left, you get 2000 and 2024

The Founders were so concerned about bribery that the Constitution forbids it three separate times. Two emoluments clauses ban officials—unambiguously including the president—from accepting things of value, plus bribery is the only named impeachable offense besides treason.

Unprecedentedly corrupt.

Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

‘Emotional blackmail’, I’ve been accused of that as well... As though guilt/shame isn’t a perfectly healthy response to learning uncomfortable truths about animal harming industries we needlessly support
I'm not sharing this for "emotional blackmail" as someone told me...but rather sharing their truth, their short lives that no one will notice 🐤🐣
