I believe that we need to keep talking about what German leaders (and media) have been doing over the past 20 months, and we have an obligation to hold them accountable. My piece mostly concerns the attacks against Iran and not the atrocities Israel is committing in Gaza, but ofc it’s all connected.
"What We Lost in the Skies Above Tehran"

HENNING LAHMANN (@hlahmann.bsky.social‬) on Germany’s failure to uphold international law – and why it’s not the breach of international law that threatens normative stability, but how the international community responds.

Germany’s case is incredibly weak and I just hope the justices will have the guts to recognize that. Someone needs to stop Berlin
Last month, Germany filed preliminary objections in the case brought by Nicaragua alleging that Germany failed to prevent genocide or ensure respect for IHL in Gaza.

The ICJ should reject Germany's objections and decide the case on its merits.

How do you cheat at a conversation? That is the question behind a new AI tool called Cluely, which promises to augment all kinds of communication.

But when @julieebeck.bsky.social tried it out, she found that it just makes interactions worse:
