Change for the better is possible.

And it can happen quicker than you think.

It may not be perfect, but a world that's better than what you think is realistic today is completely possible! Even if there will be some setbacks along the way

10 years ago we were 1 year into green line operation, and still 1 year out from the A Line being built. If memory serves, the 2nd + Marquette bus improvements were underway, and we were trying out this newfangled "signal prioritization" thing on 4th + university. _wild_ changes in 10 years

There are significantly more bikers riding in Minneapolis than there were 10 years ago, and we just opened our first protected bikeway, once network now is complete we'll have 26 high frequency bus routes, much more than 10 years ago.

Change seems slow zoomed in, but it is happening.

I would love to see MN go the colorado route with Bustang and Outrider. I think there's a good argument to be made that once daily service through a ton of rural isolated towns is worth more than 4 daily trips to big lake, even if it's significantly less sexy

Worth considering that a huge # of twin cities projects have been cockblocked in the urban core thru various methods. green and blue extensions both by BNSF, purple line by nimbys, riverview by.... Everything. Kind of a catch 22. Better to build urban but more roadblocks.

My hypothesis is there's such strong support for collegiate women's sports in MN. The frost were able to capitalize on that by building off of UMN womens hockey. A little harder to maybe build off of UMN womens BB which has been in rough shape recently.

🎙 New Bunch Formation

Let Group of 5 fans enjoy wins without you immediately saying their coaches/players are leaving. It's insulting.

Plus, deep Week 4 reactions (hello, Texas Tech and Indiana), Hot Seat updates and more.

My neighbor is Tony Ross, the principal cellist in MN Orchestra. He's also a great lover of dogs, sports fan and human being. So, of course, I love this hilarious thriller spoof clip. (Shout out to his wife, Beth, too!) Also, it really IS a terrific orchestra with a amazing sound. Go hear this one!

BLITZER: Now we’re getting reports that one of the bullet casings was engraved with a message saying that if you are reading the casing, you are gay. We must warn our viewers we’re about to show the photo and don’t know at this time whether the engraving is what makes you gay or if it just tells you

Completely and totally unacceptable behavior from leadership of a recently chartered DFL Community Caucus. Transphobia anywhere is a threat to our community everywhere.

This is only the most recent example of transphobia being tolerated within the party. When will @dfl.org step in to stop this?
dexanderson.com
My statement on tonight's DFL Feminist Caucus Annual Meeting. This statement is being emailed to the Feminist Caucus Chair, Alicia Gibson, and to the State DFL Chair, Richard Carlbom.

This caucus should be ashamed of itself.
Tonight, I attended my first and last DFL Feminist Caucus meeting. As someone who did not come by my feminism through how I was raised, but rather fought my way through to live as the gender I am and to exist as a non-binary person in this world, I found the experience to be demeaning, demoralizing, and actively anti-feminist. If being a feminist in the DFL means caucusing with this group, count me out.

My pronouns are very simple and yet the caucus chairs and caucus leadership could not get them correct, despite being repeatedly reminded and corrected at every single opportunity. However, they could suddenly use the singular “they” when it came to my fellow caucus member who happened to be a trans woman, despite her repeatedly giving her pronouns as she/her.

This was just the beginning. It was clear from the start that no one leading this meeting understood Robert’s Rules, and very clearly wanted to vote for their friends and be done with it. At the very beginning, an illegal motion was made to just adopt an entire slate of leadership, despite there being challengers to those positions known to the caucus. For me, however, the most hurtful thing was that despite repeatedly affirming that underrepresented people should run for caucus office, should be prioritized in the process, no trans or non-binary people were represented in any of the caucus leadership, much less respected in the meeting. My pronouns - they/them - were clearly seen as an inconvenience, met with eyerolls and annoyance whenever I corrected people. At one point, one of the newly elected caucus leadership claimed her pronouns are “Black Queen,” a clear mockery of the process of asking for pronouns altogether.

Does this reflect DFL values? To mock a non-binary person whose community is under direct attack from the president himself? To refuse to use a person’s proper pronouns so repeatedly and without care that I had to make a SIGN with them on it for the meeting?

It wasn’t as though my pronouns were a surprise. I sent in my statement of intent to run for Vice Chair the day before the meeting and it was sent out to all members. I identified my pronouns in that statement. And yet, they were ignored.

The DFL Feminist Caucus is anything but. I resign my membership.
