Just passed a Baskin Robbin’s that had a sign in the window that said “NO CASH KEPT IN STORE OVERNIGHT.” Please! Like I’d be breaking in for cash!

I’m becoming a superfan of this guy.
Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Pop star Bad Bunny needed a Puerto Rican history scholar. UW–Madison had just the one.
Bad Bunny collaborated with UW–Madison history professor Jorell Meléndez-Badillo on Puerto Rican narratives that accompany the new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

This guy cracks me up.
Like most Americans, I was relieved to learn the Doomsday Clock has once again sped up, bringing humanity closer to the end of all things and putting us well within reach of the sweet, welcoming silence of extinction.

This makes me profoundly sad and jealous.

I think I can speak for the majority of people in the US when I say that we want to be on Team Good Guys too.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

“But surely stock market psychopaths can’t be as bad as serial killer psychopaths,” I said.

“Serial killers ruin families,” shrugged Bob. “Corporate and political and religious psychopaths ruin economies. They ruin societies.”

I’m currently reading “The Psychopath Test” by Jon Ronson. Within the last year I have read, “Sociopath: A Memoir” by Patric Gagne and “The Psychopath Inside” by James Fallon.

It’s no coincidence that I am trying to learn all I can about psychopathy and sociopathy.

When violence expert Bandy Lee publicly warned that Donald Trump likely presented a danger to the nation’s health, she was ostracized by the psychiatric community.

It turns out she was right.
