Part of why we were so excited about these is that he designed them to print on their sides, so you can pack 100 onto the A1 mini plate easily! I did my first 100 whistle test run and omg I LOVE THEM NOW THE RAINBOWS GO ACROSS THEM???

(teeth grooves added by suggestion of folks using them!)

That is Nazi boy Platner, a recognizable Mamdani, and a lightened Jasmine Crockett, who got the slightest of mentions in this piece that mostly consists of an extended blowjob for Platner and waves away his racist, sexist history and Nazi tattoo, which, again, was only covered after he launched.

Reposts help and are greatly appreciated.

I’ll be working the remainder of the weekend but I will not make enough to cover my room for the week.

Thanks in advance
Still sick with a fever. Still unable to keep anything down except for very bland ramen. I’m begging for help to stay housed bc people don’t mask and the ER releases contagious people.

It’s inaccurate for one. Mellon is by no means the only humanities funder. And the bigger issue is that universities are forced to rely on foundations. I’m more interested in that. And I think the Mellon foundation is great. (No I’ve not received any grants from them.)
I found the article irritatingly snarky at times. But the basic observation—that a single organization with a highly specific agenda plays a near-hegemonic role in funding humanities at universities—seems worthwhile to me. This graf is the core of the argument. What do you think of it?

Hey, so this is how I found out I am also so in the habit of adding alt text I didn't realize the requirement had been shut off.

Check your settings, folks!
Good thing I got in the habit of writing alt text, I didn't even know the latest Bluesky update opted me out of requiring it. I successfully trained my brain to do a thing, it's a win.

TBH this feels a lot like "no Black people in English-speaking fantasy because the invented setting is often loosely based on the Middle Ages in Europe*".

* Where there were Black people.
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Exactly! There's even a precedent for that specific situation...

Did people raise this much of a fuss when Melora aired in 1993? memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Melora_...

I don’t know man. I was like ages 7-13 when TNG aired and responses to Starfleet Academy are making me feel insane. This shit isn’t written in a secret code. The advancement is a pluralistic society not tractor beams.

Ultimately, a wheelchair is a very good piece of very simple technology, that isn't prone to failure in case of computer issue or power failure. It, like any tool, has its own failure states - but I fully understand someone using one, even in the far Trek future.

And to tie it in to an older thread
As I've been on a roll with Star Trek threads today, let's continue with this one: you know one of the best parts of Geordie's visor?

90% of the time, nobody fucking mentions it.
a man is standing in a hallway with a blue light behind him
Alt: Geordie LaForge, rolling to make it out of Engineering under the lowering blast doors.

Oz's CMS is handing Medicaid data to the regime's child abducting, nurse murdering gestapo. In 28 states, ICE can see your diagnoses, your prescriptions, and where you receive care. No court restrictions at all. I wrote about how this works and what it means.

Focusing on and including Nazi Tattoo Oyster Man is certainly...a choice.
A base that has long made pragmatic, sober decisions appears increasingly attracted to charismatic outsiders who promise to break from the party’s failures of the last decade. They see their party’s leaders as feckless and inept.

It’s the Democratic Tea Party, with a twist. trib.al/mC5cBDA

One of my favorite themes of the Harley Quinn cartoon is Poison Ivy regularly pointing out it doesn’t make any sense that she’s considered a villain.
