I'll mostly be posting about table top RPGs, CGI, photography and writing but also probably whatever random thought crosses my mind

Liverpool (the place not the FC)

I do back end website development and accessibility for a living
Why did I immediately think of SLA Industries frothers?

The pubs even called "The War Office" which sounds very SLA

Looking at some 3D assets - in this case water mills - and they suffer from the problem of being modelled by someone who knows the parts of a watermill but not how they go together

Which is funny as the Mill in The Hameau de la Reine built for Marie Antoinette has the same problem

Pelgrane are looking for play testers for my upcoming Halfling-detectives-solve-murders-and-eat-cake roleplaying game, THE MERRYSHIRE DETECTIVE CLUB.

There's a sample scenario, THE CASE OF THE GREAT RING, in the playtest packet, so all you need is a few players...

[In development] Blake’s 7 reboot 🚀

"Emmy-nominated The Last of Us director Peter Hoar has launched a production outfit and is working on a reboot of cult British sci-fi classic Blake’s 7."

We'll see if it really happens, but I'm interested.

Reworking the map with a fog covered area - scarier than any of Ravenloft's mists

"Beware Hundred Acre Wood UK Copyright expires January 2027"
Next RPG to run for friends bubbling along nicely

Sketched a map combining the Wind in the Willows, Animal Farm and Pooh-Wood

Tomorrow I'll see if I can fit Beatrix Potter's setting in too

Then its applying the Roger Corman cheap action film lens to it

Yes I used 5 adaptors to connect one piece of audio gear to two speakers

But its temporary unlike the pro AV technicians whose permanent conference centre rig I had to figure out the reason the audio and picture broke up whenever a bus went past shaking the many adapters they'd used

If any publishers see this (esp UK/European) I’d love to hear your feelings on A5 vs 9”x6” formats.

Cost to print?
Distributor/retail prefs?
Layout space?

Please retweet for reach😀

Taken an hour to organise all of those boxes of small DIY bits and pieces

Leaving me with just one shoe box sized container of washers; strange shaped bit of metal and plastic; odd screws; and other odd and ends

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

TTRPG argument starter for Friday 15th January.

That RPG you enjoy? The system doesn't do it's job properly and if you're enjoying it then you're obviously playing it wrong.

Checkmate, nerds.

Some notes about how I write TTRPG adventures:

My texts tend to be terse. A location described in two lines; a single spoken sentence to describe a character.

The aim is *not* to be laconic, but to mirror the pace of natural dialogue; a TTRPG is a conversation between players, after all!

There is a certain joy in assembling a 6x6 table of random inspirations for an RPG

And then my brain decides I need to organise it so a roll on a column or rows gives a nice sub-set and the whole thing turns into a giant game of shuffling data
