Charitable to assume letting Trump and co off easy was a bug, not a feature.
The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.

Yeah I bet it feels truly maddening that the entire admin above you are the only people who wouldn’t take the obvious easy off-ramp: tossing both shooters under the bus and lowering the temp for a short while.

The purpose of the Democratic Party in the US is not opposition to Republicans and the right wing. It’s purpose is to provide a center-right backstop to ensure when any American chafes against capitalism and white supremacy they don’t have a chance to consider actual lefty politics.

I think if nothing else this should be proof to us all that if you see ICE/CBP doing anything: film them.
Film them from afar, from as close as you can, and as much as you can.
It’s the best deterrent we have but it’s not going to deter them everytime.
