if a street kills this many pedestrians it should get knocked down to 2 lanes, 15 mph, speed bumps, new concrete protected bike lanes, and this should happen within a few months
Calle Cesar Chavez is a high-volume arterial with a 30 mph speed limit, four general travel lanes and a notorious history of fatal crashes.

The thing that's always frustrated the right wing ideologues who've glommed onto Trump is that he doesn't have the attention span to actually be a committed ideological warrior. Again, I don’t want to get too personal but the most tepidly political, structurally vulnerable people in my life were protesting ICE all week. The juxtaposition here is just wild.
The degree to which the Democratic Party is failing to meet this moment is staggering. And INFURIATING, when contrasted with the courage on display from ordinary people with far, far less power & protection.

Recently, crews working with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) added a new line of street trees along NE 82nd Avenue adjacent to Glenhaven Park's parking area. The new plantings occupy a 600-foot-long planting strip created by shifting the formerly curb-tight sidewalk west, closer to a mature tree line on the city park's edge. This pedestrian update will improve the daily walk many schoolchildren take on their commute to Leodis V.

Councilor Sameer Kanal diagnosed the different sides of this issue as “status quo versus change.” He pointed out that half of Portlanders are renters, but they've been underrepresented in local leadership, and cast aside accordingly. Ryan seemed to take that as an affront to homeowners like himself.
