my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

At my job, we call those a "it's not an accessibility issue because it sucks for everyone"
It's common to hear "fully accessible" to describe products which pass WCAG 2.2 AA. But, are they really?

In this post, I explore 5 examples of why WCAG, as awesome as it is, is not a measure of great usability or performance.

Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

This is why I always feel one bad gender stereotype meme away from declaring myself non-binary. What do you mean people live with that set of norms everyday?!
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

I'm not interested in more defenses of edge cases where genAI and LLMs can be useful. That's not the world we're living in right now. Right now we're living in a world where people are pretending these tools can effectively do a fuckton more than they can. And it's dangerous and scary.

I hear that line a lot. The thing is, futures are tricky.

The fear of not having enough money is familiar. But there’s a quieter struggle at the top: feeling uncomfortable with having too much, says money psychotherapist Vicky Reynal ⬇️
