Trying to be a serious person, but probably thinking about X-Men and Star Trek.

We were there too. Had the very interesting behind-the-scenes experience of sitting behind the producer as he issued notes from his laptop too. Agree it was a great show!

Our train was announced as having “reverse formation” (I.e. first class at the back) so we got to watch all the train company bootlickers do a walk of shame up to the far end of the platform.

I learnt that this existed about three days ago and immediately I was like "yes. Finally!" although, in fairness, the suggestion that you bring your own padlock doesn't fill me with total confidence. There are a bunch of youtubers reviewing it which are interesting: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Imh...

Back to the Hammersmith Apollo next week for Elis & John, where I can only assume the made-up games will have a similar fervour behind them as the wrestling tonight.

Just saw Max & Ivan’s Clash of the comics. It was obviously great but like, mostly I’m just impressed no-one got killed. And also that Ivo Graham compered it with 3 hours notice.

One of these is the most efficient, enduring and brutal method of inflicting punishment on a society that history ever conceived, and the other is the guillotine. #hignfy

Star Wars came out May 1977, last guillotine execution in France, September 1977! Although the did them in private by then.

The one I always think of is that the final guillotine execution in France happened after the release of Star Wars

Just in case you haven’t seen the Mr. T PSA such from Key and Peele, I enjoyed it very much: youtu.be/1g-s-pghtYQ?...

IMO trains should turn their interior lights off after 10pm, like long haul flights.

When Em first played that game at a friend’s party she came home buzzing like I’d never seen saying “Daddy, we HAVE to buy this game I just played” and yeah, she was right.

It’s copyright-free, though, so you can get it on YouTube and/or archive.org (if you weren’t aware)

I have a sort of respect for Savage Dragon, as a kind of one-man dedication to stupidity. It's been years since I read any but it's been going long enough that I have to assume it's doing something right.

My ill-advised side quest of reading 1990s trash comics brought me to Medieval Spawn/Witchblade. Written by Garth Ennis, it begins with the lead character finding the Witchblade buried in a heap of dung. Subtext.

Just in case you’ve never seen it, CITIZEN KANE is on BBC iPlayer and you really should give it a go. In the era where multimillionaires are shitting their pants publicly on the reg because money can’t buy the love they want, it feels as relevant as ever.

It’s been decades since I watched it and tbh in my teen years I lacked the perspective to really grasp what it was about. Just brilliant on so many levels.

Yeah, I’m actually not a big fantasy guy and I think this is part of why, I set the bar too high early on! I never found the flight of dragons book, but I did read The Dragon And The George which (I’m sure you’re aware) was the other part of the adaptation.

Your Spidey run is for the ages, at least, so the effort paid off. Imo it’s Lee/Ditko, then you & your artists. Glad things have calmed down for you but I’d love to hear the behind the scenes on how it all got written one day, if only for posterity!

Love that movie. Might be the first I ever clocked I could record off tv myself and watch it whenever I wanted, aged about 6.

GOD, the number of emails I get from selling off Vinted is absolutely unhinged. "Someone bought your thing" "You generated a shipping label" "You dropped your parcel off" "The courier also knows you dropped your parcel off" "It's on its way" "It's arrived" "Here's their feedback" "Here's your money"

Me every time I put something in my basket, decide not to buy it, then receive 300 nagging emails about how I "forgot" to check out.

"why don't you just leave me alone?" is my general complaint about everything digital now.

It simply won't let me just get on with things in peace

Like legitimately, I can’t think why else they’d cling onto a guy who can barely make a decent case for “not racism” unless they also want to blame the unpopular tax reforms on him too.
