From a Minnesotan: a hearty HELL NO to this. This man is a professional political consultant in DC raising $$ for a political party. There are endless better places to donate to actually help people here suffering and fighting against this nazi invasion. Here’s a start:

Because it's an ethnic cleansing. That's what they're doing, and that's what they want. We need to be clear about this.
I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

every single successful general strike in US history has had union backing through the local AFL-CIO

this is the first time it’s been called for since the 1940s

Also, while I’m putting requests out into the ether here, I am working on a new #WNBA podcast format that I would really like to test with some people.

If you have the time and want to get on the horn to talk about history and the W, let me know! Signal boosts also welcome 🙏

The Virginia legislature today passed four constitutional amendments, all by day 3 of 2026 session:

—protect abortion rights
—repeal the same-sex marriage ban
—allow mid-decade redistricting
—greatly expand voting rights restoration.

These will all go to 2026 referendums.

the leaders of the civil rights era could not propose or veto legislation. they had no "power." but they had legitimacy because they were out there. Letter from a Birmingham Jail was written...FROM JAIL. But with these guys "Hey it's crazy right now and we can't do much, but give us money." LOL ok.

Personally I can't wait for a lockout - these owners need to understand that they are not the product, and that the WNBA doesn't exist solely to cover whatever losses the MNBA has.

PAY THE PLAYERS!

Exactly!

And because they pay them so little right now anyway, should there be a lockout, it's going to hurt owners' pockets way more than the players! They are used to being scrappy/finding ways to make $$$, while the owners have been using the WNBA as a piggy bank & claiming "losses"
They say they want to be the best game in town? Then compensate the players at the same level as rival leagues

I was explaining this to my husband the other day. Like this isn't the NFL where there is no other place to play American football - WNBA players have so many other places they can play professional basketball!

How the owners think they have leverage, I will never understand.
Whenever news comes out about the #WNBA CBA negotiations, I’m just so shocked at how the league believes it has any leverage

Players are the ones creating the value and growth that have dozens of cities begging for a team, 90% or more are free agents, and they have been in lockstep the whole way

NEW: I spoke to fans & labor organizers about how WNBA fan solidarity could be a key part of the CBA negotiations—& why women's sports fans are uniquely positioned to support a work stoppage, should one be on the table.
fan solidarity could be the wnba players' secret weapon
fandom works differently in women's sports than it does in men's—and it skews much more pro-player than pro-owner.

And this is why I will NEVER lose hope. The people are rising.
At one point today, there were 283 Minnesota attorneys doing a training on how to file emergency habeas petitions to keep our neighbors from being shipped out of state and held indefinitely.

That would be the second largest law firm in the state. And that training was just put together this week.
