Someone should be tracking the recidivism rate of J6'ers. It's high.
“A Summit man, who was once accused of firing a gun during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, was taken into custody last month after he was wanted for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault in Utah.”

Fugitive Nabbed On Kidnap, Sex Assault Charges Was Accused Of Firing Gun At Capitol Riot
Banuelos was charged last year for the Jan. 6, 2021, shooting at the U.S. Capitol riot, but charges were dropped after the Trump pardons.

There is something deeply broken about an economy that creates trillionaires while people get buried under the cost of living and 42 million go hungry. The ultra-rich should realize that my Billionaires Income Tax, aimed at ensuring they pay their fair share, represents the moderate path forward.

I remember being with my two closest friends from HS (both Jewish) in 2016 who were very excited to vote for Trump, and I didn't understand how they didn't see this coming even then.
The Jewish right discovering in real time that the Trumpist right, and the open bigotries it has unleashed upon the US body politic, is not in fact going to spare Jews, is quite a trip.

This is some bullshit.
New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

This morning federal agents arrested two hard working immigrants on my street because they didn’t have their papers on them, and tried to arrest my neighbor because his green card was in his house rather than on his person.

We are now a “show me your papers” state, and it is outrageous. Get angry.

At UNC School of Law this morning, three #AI bots are sitting as jurors in a mock trial of a juvenile robbery charge.

Intense criticism came from members of a post-trial panel including a law professor and a philosopher with legal training.

Norms & duct tape. That's all the Republic has turned out to be, because the laws & the Constitution do not enforce themselves. There are about 30 people in Washington who can fix this. We should stop giving them free passes all day every day & laser-focus on getting them to do their damn jobs.
It is incredibly difficult to get folks to understand that there are literally 20-30 people in DC who could end all of this tomorrow, & all of them are Republicans in Congress, & no one in the National Conversation seems interested in paying attention to that.

It sucks and it's transformational are not mutually exclusive categories.
There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI.
1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.

Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

The average citizen doesn't react in the slightest when confronted by masked men geared up for combat like I was as an infantryman.....sure buddy.
Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.

It is not clear that Mr. Trump’s image can be featured on a coin. An 1866 law enshrined a tradition that only deceased people could appear on U.S. currency to avoid the appearance that America was a monarchy. Trump admin is planning to do it anyway.

It contextualizes what the conservative movement really is and why this moment is so utterly dangerous.

Its conclusion that we will have to unmake the conservative power structure is absolute truth
