Also, politics is not a forum for self-improvement. Get therapy, feed the homeless, find religion, do actual repentance. Don’t run for office. @mike10010100.com
a remarkable thing here is that Platner's defenders are 'can't a man change?' and ... he's shown basically zero repentance! his whole attitude toward this has been a mixture of lying that he didn't know what the tattoo was and entitlement and anger about being called out on it.

The way people act personally betrayed because they don’t like some is the kind of ultra-consumerist behavior we should study in a lab
I'm starting to think an unintended consequence of "everything is content" is the entitlement a lot of people have toward popular media that they don't personally enjoy because their lack of enjoyment is depriving them of content and the ability to participate in social media, which is also content

This is the kind of shit that makes Christians sound insane and also morally suspect. Prioritizing imaginary, highly sectarian “spiritual” harm or actual murderous evil is psychopath behavior.
Easy one: People don’t have pictures of relatives who were murdered by demons.

I was like this myself until I got to graduate school and some Jews basically took me aside and were like, hey, so your idea of "religion" is just Christianity, and you're repeating misconceptions about our beliefs based on the religion you were raised in badly misreading shit

People who want others to push the rock uphill should be the first to start pushing.
1) the above thread is about making shit up in response to Republicans making shit up.

2) if you think it'll win, go do it, be the chance you want to see in the world.

Like I didn’t even get into whether the problem was even worth solving, just that solving it is basically impossible with our current knowledge and tools, and unsolvable at the speed of elections.
There is no evidence that constantly making shit up works for Dems like it does Republicans.

G-d, no wonder Europeans got rolled by Putin. Clueless. @mike10010100.com @eleanor.lockhart.contact
I encounter this in most conversations with German media, politicians, diplomats. This is where the stupid "Trump is just a businessman / not an ideologue" nonsense has caused tremendous damage. It's also partially a coping mechanism: A comforting fairy tale that the regime "doesn't really mean it."
In the UK this week I kept encountering people who were like "So when is Trump going to drop Stephen Miller. Because obviously the racism is not sincere and was just a cynical electoral ploy" and I had to be like "No these people are sincere and avowed eugenicists. Like they are being serious."

Ingredients are chemicals. You are chemicals. All food is chemicals. Unless you talking about the core of stars, everything around you are chemicals.

The reason you won’t answer the question is that it’s inconvenient for your ideology. US invasion bad, but communist invasion requires nuance. Get bent. Arguing with a communist was, and is, always a mistake.

In a liberal democratic society one’s “sincere beliefs” are subject to the same contestation and argument that is part of a democratic society. They are not entitled to praise or freedom from dissension. One who espouses such has no right to love or prestige merely for holding them.
Like what are you going to do here? Force the film festival to stay at the church or pay some penalty? You could do that but it wouldn't solve the issue that they don't *want* to be there anymore.

As someone who did DoorDash for a bit. TIP YOUR DRIVERS. They need to eat too. If you can’t afford to tip, don’t do delivery. The tip is a part of the cost.
All I really have to say about the fast food discourse is that as a former line cook, I should be allowed to [LONG, ANGRY BEEP COVERING A MULTITUDE OF MORTAL SINS] anybody who thinks food service _needs_ to have artificially low labor costs.

Fill in the beep however, whatever terrifies you most.

The person who wrote this article fundamentally doesn’t what liberalism is. “You don’t want to impose your preferences, curious!”
"You think people should be allowed to pursue whatever kind of life makes them happy and yet you pursue the kind of life that makes you happy, I am very smart."

The point of shit like this isn’t to own high craftsmanship (for this is certainly not), but to indulge in a kind of opulence that says ‘I’m so rich I pay for crap that fills the landfill’.
This does have a “high level of quality and art value,” I guess, if that is what you call producing a very-substandard Breyer horse and dipping it in silver. As always, the children must never touch it. $1400.

It’s the same “noble savage” trope, just with white people being the noble savages.
The above post is also deeply suspicious in the context of multiple years of moronic online discourse where a small subset of the left continually insists that trumpians are better potential socialists than suburban liberal moms

The thing is, there no “right-wing” or “left-wing” antisemitism. They are one and the same. They all have the same cosmology of wretched, decedent elites vs the wholesome unblemished volk.

The Crusades that slaughtered Rhineland Jewry and God knows how many Muslims: Christian. The inquisition? Easter pogroms? Antisemitic Passion Plays? Theology that justified colonialism and slavery? all “real” Christianity as much as St. Francis & Dr. King are. Speaking of cherry picking.

Yes, because the ideologues have everything under control right now.
What we need right now is a technocratic political party consisting exclusively of PhD economists to come together in the political center to solve our most pressing problems.
