I support identity verification, but this two-tier, multi-step system risks voter suppression in practice. I remain dedicated to working constructively with the party to facilitate a fair, equitable, and secure election, and I had no part in bringing our internal legal letter to light.

Member verification systems are supposed to keep bad actors out. They are not supposed to prevent eligible members from engaging in a party's electoral process. But that's what the @bcgreens.bsky.social broken verification system is doing. 🧵

"Giving private developers low-cost loans to build $$ rental housing won't help folks who are homeless. Making home ownership cheaper won't help either. Even most new social housing excludes low-income people nowadays. We need 1000s of units of dignified non-market housing at about $500/mo"

Please read Jean Swanson's letter to Housing Minister Gregor Robertson.

As "progressive" Vancouver mayor, Gregor Robertson vowed to end street homelessness. We all know how that turned out. Developers profited, homelessness surged.

Read the whole short thread, but it really is so silly to see the Juice Man saying we can't bring prices down too much but we also need more affordable housing.

Buddy you sound like a kid who wants to wear a t-shirt outside in the winter but doesn't want to be cold
Canada's Housing Minister Gregor Robertson, when asked if housing prices should come down, effectively says no. "It's a huge part of our economy." Then offers the tired catchphrase "more supply"—as if supply ever brought prices down.

YIMBY leader’s quote to the SF Examiner: “The fact is, rich people need to live somewhere.”

While co-opting the language of housing justice, SF's YIMBY movement has always been about housing for the wealthy, enriching real estate speculators, and opposing the interests of tenants and workers.
What if adding homes doesn’t boost affordability?

It was odd to hear some ABC councillors complain that this issue was being politicized. Children going hungry is a policy failure. Ergo it’s inherently political.
Great to see cuts to City’s grant for school meal programs reversed by unanimous vote.

Now bring back Renters Office, restore library hours, end the supportive housing ban, become a Living Wage employer again, and invest in desperately-needed social infrastructure.

Sean Orr's tweet was *sarcasm* yet you read it out as if it wasn't. His tweet was attacking an anti-semitic troll through mockery, which you failed to transmit.

Did you leave out the context this on purpose? Fix this immediately please.

Just heard the news story. The reporter read out the old tweet verbatim without providing *any* context. Not-online listeners are going to assume the worst. It's journalistic malpractice.
