I was a gentle child; the kind who’d eat animal crackers from their tails. I even ate taiyaki, hato sable, and mushrooms from their tail. One day, my dad returned from a business trip to Aomori and brought me back some badly-shaped animal cookies; I couldn’t tell which side was the head and which was the tail. Since I didn’t know where to start I ate ‘em from their bellies. That night, I cried. I cried because I felt I did something cruel. I was a kid that loved bending the tabs on those petit pudding cups. Now, I’ve grown into a mean adult who eats Mickey cookies by their ears.

YES this is such a good way of putting it - I also really enjoyed that each of the protags connected with the knowledge in completely different ways to show how radical thought requires a diversity of rhetorical tactics to be effective on a larger scale

just finished ORB (2024)! I have Many thoughts that haven’t quite crystallized fully, but I will say it is undoubtedly one of my favorite anime of recent years, and one that I think will thematically resonate for a long time

God YES he is the most NOTHING character and it sucks bc he has a great design!! and he and mel have -6384782 chemistry, especially when compared to nem or eris, which makes the affection-based march to the epilogue a real slog.

It’s a roguelike! It was never going to be a satisfying story! It is almost antithetical to the loop at play here. For me, the bigger issue is the quality of character writing bc it lives and dies on you wanting to know more about certain characters, and THAT is where the game truly suffered

I had my own issues with the writing in hades 2, but i also feel like the story is not the reason that people are coming to this particular well for this particular drink? Perhaps I’m Simple but i think I’m okay with a little underwhelming writing in exchange for some enjoyable gameplay
