Snopes confirms it! Dolly Parton wrote Jolene and I Will Always Love You on the same day. #totp www.snopes.com/fact-check/d...
Did Dolly Parton Write 'Jolene' and 'I Will Always Love You' in One Day?
The world-famous country music artist recalled having a "good writing day" in 1972.

I'm really enjoying Wonder Man. I think it hooked me when Simon met Trevor for the first time, and told him how he watched him play Edgar Allan Poe in an episode of Omnibus - Something Ben Kingsley did.

Let's skate over how an American in his 20s saw a 1975 episode of a BBC documentary show.

We finally got around to watching the Only Connect final, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

But there was one connection on the second wall that led to a bit of a rabbit hole. (Spoilers ahead.)

We easily spotted some of the names played by Gary Oldman, but, I confess, one didn't jump out. /1

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test

Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)

Good tech.

Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)

Bad tech.

I think that video for Love Changes Everything was filmed at the big house where I worked at this time. ALW arrived in a helicopter, and they left the place in such a mess that the owners insisted on them sending in a team of cleaners.

They met Michael Ball backstage, and he apologised for the mess

I see the new Marvel show Wonder Man has just popped up on Disney+. And I'm quite tickled to see the two main characters are called Trevor and Simon.

I'd strongly endorse this recommendation. It's huge fun, and my enjoyment was only increased by the fact a lot of it was shot in a big stately home where I used to work a long time ago.
Polite Society is on Film4, Wednesday night at 9pm and I'd hugely recommend it: teenage would-be stuntwoman plots to stop her older sister's wedding, having decided the bridegroom is secretly evil.
Enormous fun - this was my NYE film a couple of years ago.

In honour of Dolly Parton’s 80th birthday tomorrow, I’ve made this: it’s my own interpretation of how Elvis’s version of I Will Always Love You MIGHT have sounded, if it had happened…

EVERYBODY re-post this so it reaches Dolly…

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo
