"Standing up to Caesar didn't work. My bad. You can go home now." - Jesus
It's cool when a member of Congress says there's no point in standing up to the bully who is literally taking our tax money.

We do not have a federal government.
Sen. Angus King: "Standing up to Donald Trump didn't work"
Thanks. But having said that, I can't think of a pilot that begins this way. Features yes (BLUE VELVET) but not a pilot. 🤔 Thoughts?
Ah, yes. Excellent add.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday that demands made by Democrats for new restrictions on federal immigration officers are “unrealistic” and warned that the Department of Homeland Security will shut down next week if they do not work with Republicans and the White House.

Jeff Bezos isn't just destroying a media institution. He's also destroying the lives of hundreds of workers. All to line his own pockets, and to try and destroy our democracy.

We proudly stand in solidarity with @cwaunion.bsky.social workers.
The Washington Post just announced they are laying off over 300 workers, decimating one of the most important newsrooms in the country.

Our talented members deserve so much better.

Join us tomorrow, Feb 5 at noon, for a rally in DC to #SaveThePost.

Opening scenes in pilots—

I’d love to discuss different types w/ examples:

Flash-forward
Flashback
Death/dead body scene
Dream sequence

What other types are there?

How To Get Away With Murder & Breaking Bad are excellent combos of Flash-Forward combined w/ Dead Body #scriptsky #filmsky

I bring you this from the pen of Dylan Byers at @puck.news so you can see how adult-in-the-room punditry works.

When at the last minute Bezos shocked everyone by killing the Post's endorsement of Kamala Harris, signaling a new openness to Trump, and enraging core audiences...that's now a "squable."

Jeffrey Bezos is destroying the Washington Post for the same reason Musk destroyed Twitter and Ellison is destroying CBS—oligarchs oppose the free press when if it threatens their wealth and power.

They don’t want normal people to see what is happening in America.

Spanberger is a moderate Democrat who used to work for the C.I.-fucking-A. It should put the actions of Schumer and Jeffries into perspective for everyone. Are they Republicans? Because they sure act like it.

They need to get the fuck out.
NEW: Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program.

This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE.

Big, big move by the governor within weeks of coming into office.

Redistricting did not turn out how Trump wanted. So, now he is resorting to political prosecutions, ballot seizures and the threat of federal paramilitary to steal the 2026 midterms. He is normalizing the idea that his administration will take over ballot counting. We cannot let that happen.
