this is a good reminder of how things that are shitty but have been accepted as normal and inevitable can actually turn out to be abnormal and evitable with some science, time, education and political will

Your Boston Globe @bostonglobe.com editor in the year 2026 believes segregation in cities is “natural”. 👇🏻
There’s something so fitting and also infuriating to see the former editor of the Boston Globe and current journalism department chair at BU casually asserting that “cities are naturally segregated” in the new HBO Doc “Murder in Boston”.

Making sure a Variety editor knows that a chia pet ad ended up airing in prime time on WCBS is a god tier level of knife twisting.
Major advertisers appeared to sit out a new CBS News town hall telecast Saturday, moderated by Bari Weiss and featuring an interview with Erika Kirk.

Lack of Madison Avenue support could challenge the viability of the format, which Weiss wants to expand

main economic message from
the president is that you will be poorer and you will like it
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

I promise you, the racists, evangelicals and misogynists you're collaborating with do not give a shit that you 'don't believe' in identity politics.

They still think less of you *due to your identity*.

And as soon as you stop being useful shields for them, you will be *gone*.

without birthright citizenship in the united states, you don't have a democracy and you don't have rule of law.

revoking birthright citizenship gives fascists free rein to purge the country of literally anyone they don't like. it opens the door to atrocities and mass murder. i am not exaggerating.

Birthright citizenship is probably not integral to liberal democracy, but it is integral to *American* liberal democracy. Our vision of what we are as a country, as a nation beyond an ethnicity, requires it.

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy.

Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality.

John Roberts > Roger Taney.

Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.

Really overwhelming how often Black people of high rank have become the unwavering guardians of the values America has long espoused but now abandoned. And repeatedly found themselves eliminated now that the mask of propriety has been discarded by white nationalists. Makes me proud. And angry.
Wow, Adm. Holsey didn't leave of his own accord, Hegseth pushed him out. What looked like the SOCOM head resigning rather than do war crimes now looks like SecDef canning him to facilitate war crimes.

Congress should have him testify, and would've already if war-crime-sympathetic GOP didn't run it.
Exclusive | Hegseth Asked Top Admiral to Resign After Months of Discord
