My first series, Madelyn of the Sky, had a main character who pretended to be brave but never thought she was good enough. She was constantly masking who she was!

Almana Gwynedd, who wrote the original How to Be a Dragon, claims to be a dragon in human form. She wrote that back in 1882, so she must have been pretending.
