Liberal-minded anti-brexiteer. Politics, finance, people and not in that order! Opinions painfully my own. Subject to change depending upon evidence - principles rather more fixed. Hopefully aging disgracefully.🔶🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Extraordinary, first up on questions people also ask is worse: "Where is Sadiq Khan from originally?" At least the answer is grammatically correct even though I prefer "Sarf London innit".
So, instead of tax rises, announce Rejoin referendum. Increase in GDP and productivity hikes tax revenue, reduces # of civil servants as CION assumes certain roles, kills small boat incentive, creates natural flow of labour as we age. And pays for pensions. Or, break manifesto tax pledges.
Ok, now that is one for @bezzyboop.bsky.social . Tell me, if you put an aerator on the spout does it know that champagne is being requested?

More information coming out now on this. Looks like a Cabinet Office scheme led by Georgia Gould… planned savings of £10m-£30m a year (back up lower Premier League full-back price) don’t really seem worth the candle if this the result IMO.

We just defeated Nigel Farage’s Bill in Parliament to tear up people’s rights and withdraw from the ECHR.

Farage wants to do away with the Britain Churchill built and turn it into a version of Trump's America. We stopped him.
"thought" doing some heavy lifting there...

ICYMI on Sarah Pochin's remarks to Talk TV on Sat, where she complained that “adverts are full of Black people and Asian people”, Lib Dem MP Max Wilkinson said:

"Nigel Farage keeps insisting that racism has no place in his party. Now is his chance to prove it - he must withdraw the whip."

The hypocrisy of Reform going on TV to allege that certain groups are constantly over represented on TV is truly epic.
EES was a UK priority in the days when we were at the table. Seen as a way of strengthening external EU southern border. We just didn't expect that we would vote to put ourselves on the other side of the EU's border and subject ourselves to such rules.

Chris Philp failed FIVE times to call out Reform MP Sarah Pochin’s blatantly racist comments.

The Conservatives are too scared of Reform to call out this racism for what it is.

Liberal Democrats will always call out racism and stand up for a decent, tolerant Britain.

How thoroughly unpleasant … how does she think non white British born families felt for decades being invisible on TV.

Our diversity is our strength
This is Reform! We have to defeat them, it won’t be done by always dividing the progressive vote!
Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin, “It drives me mad seeing adverts full of black people, full of Asian people, full of anything other than white"

Followed by that time Sarah Pochin said, "My kids say: mum, you're such a moron" 👀
And no, Bury's finest is made from pigs' blood. Food for the gods washed down with Hungary's best.
Anyone remember Bull"s Blood from the early 80s? Not a bad drop I thought. I was quite young though in '83...
Oi! Wouldn't we rather he stayed there?
I canvassed someone (constituency redacted!) during the last election who was complaining about 90/180. "Did you vote for it?" isn't a good question when trying to get votes but I was firm on the solution being EFTA/Rejoin and to the constituent's credit, he understood and accepted.
