🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.
New: Boris Johnson’s ‘Brexit Titanic success’ was half right
Nearly ten years on, the first full assessment of Brexit confirms what millions warned: Britain made itself poorer

If I type what I feel about the people responsible for this I’d probably get struck off… but I’m sure you can imagine.
Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

We've had to wait a long time to get to this point! With this new pair of Cochrane systematic reviews, the weight of the evidence has tipped very heavily in favor of HPV vaccination.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for the prevention of cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases: a network meta-analysis - PubMed
The evidence in this network meta-analysis of HPV vaccines is based on extensive searches and analyses. There is evidence from randomised controlled trials that HPV vaccination reduces the risk of pre-cancerous outcomes such as CIN2+ and anogenital warts. No data were available for cervical cancer o …

The difficult truth is that there is a clear national security element to social media information flows. It can't all be viewed through the single lens of free speech. Disinformation sabotage is a hostile act intended to destablise our societies. Our societies need appropriate protection.

All my neighbours had ordered goggles to my house before we had any other ppe at work. We had a bathtub full. Every day I’d lay them out and carry some up and distribute - to porters, nurses, anyone I would see in the hallways, filled with fear. The community pulled together when others failed us

Powerful piece by @drrachelclarke.com on the COVID inquiry. Those who say it’s easy to be wise in hindsight are being utterly disingenuous. Many of us spoke out at the time, and it’s in the public record.

That inaccurate messaging persists. And staff remain unprotected on wards with patients with COVID armed with a mere plastic apron and surgical mask. As opposed to vaccination and FFP3 mask.
