A beautiful moment today, a massive memorial bike ride for #AlexPretti passed the Public Theater during A PROTEST FOR HUMANITY: The People’s Filibuster, with artists, community leaders, families, and a very tall bike!

It’s been a week, who killed Alex Pretti?

Giving me a protected bike lane means you don't have to deal with me in the street. I'm not going to stop biking, the protected bike lane works for all of us.

Respectfully, saying “don’t take the bait” is a version of obeying in advance - this is just tsk tsking a community for engaging in militant self-defense / counterviolence.

The right/Trump will create a pretext for Insurrection Act etc, no matter how “peaceful” the opposition is

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

I need people who don’t live in the Twin Cities to stop telling people not to join massive Signal groups right now. People are doing it. They’re going to keep doing it. Give them good advice about it.

The actually practical advice is don’t say anything to 1000 strangers you wouldn’t say in public

ICE snatched a NYC Council staffer following the law—going to a routine immigration appointment. This is an attack on due process, on our city, and on every immigrant here. Release them now.

Right. The point is not “it matters extra because it’s a citizen,” the point is “we either hang together or we will all hang separately.”
i think it is ok to reiterate that the victim as a us citizen. yes, noncitizens are equally entitled to human rights. but also, it's important to illustrate how ice isn't about immigration at all

Not just that. Due dates on documents like for Medicare, SNAP, etc. are decided based on when they're mailed out and uses the postmark date so see if they're met.

This WILL cause people to lose benefits.

Let me explain how it works.
Why isn't there more shouting about this? This is the USPS undermining mail-in ballots. They find every opportunity to subvert voting and democracy.

the "Keep police radio public act," which would have ensured that police dispatch radio remained audible to the press.

In this QT thread I'm going to ask artists 6 questions to consider, which I'm very willing to hear them out on and will hopefully lead to an interesting discussion.
