So many folks are looking for work and getting rejected, being reduced down to what qualities exist on a piece of paper. I'd like to counteract some of that, so share what makes you #MoreThanAResume

I'm a musician, poet, and cook. I also love improv. RT w a pic for reach, let's start a trend.
Anyone in the bay area have an update on the ICE situation during the super bowl. I'm kind of nervous about leaving the house to go to a super bowl party.

Yesterday I got his with a drive by hard R by a white dude in a blue truck. I expect that in the American south not the south bay of Cali.

It's more odd than anything. Even other black folk don't always clock me as black til I open my mouth since I'm mixed and ethnically ambiguous. Just a weird day

You ever walk away from a interview feeling like you were too nervous to do your best? The stakes are high for me and I just hope this last one isn't the end of the conversation. I know I'm good at what I do, but I feel like I blanked during the interview. Here's hoping it doesn't haunt me.

If not Gestapo, then why Gestapo shaped?
“ICE isn’t the Gestapo. The Gestapo was…” (proceeds to describe qualities that apply to what ICE is currently doing)

We must stay vigilant against even passive attempts to moderate the words of radical Black voices, especially after they are murdered by the state.

If there's one empirical insight I'd want everyone to understand about American politics, it's this:

America's problems are solved problems. Just not here.

What would change if the US simply matched the average of 31 peer democracies? Not Denmark or Norway. Just the middle of the pack. 🧵

These are concentration camps. And these are the numbers they're comfortable sharing.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

Ash has been an amazing contact and I've seen their work on the verge which has been simply incredible. Any of y'all would be lucky to have Ash on your team.
Breaks my heart to share this, but today is my last day at The Verge and I am looking for work! I'd really like to stay in video games, preferably in some kind of journalistic capacity but I can do PR/Marketing and maybe even a lil Narrative Design. Please get in touch!
