This is one I found in a box, that I hadn't seen before. My great uncle Norman. He was a soldier in WW2 and died of TB*. I have very sketchy memories of him but have a few of his belongings still. Passed away in the 1960s.
Most of the important B&W pics from my family are still to be looked at. We are busy emptying my mother's bungalow atm and my sister is being a total arse. We got the scanner to make sure we can make copies asap, in case she walzes off with them.
It's not just the effluent, fuel and footfall impact of these monsters, it's the nitrogen and sulphide oxides output whilst in port. The stats on cruise ships are truly eyebrow raising.
Perhaps there's a hugh level editorial meeting to decide whether they should they use the word faeces or slurry, or just say "cosplaying as a fighter pilot, dropping tonnes of steaming sh*t on American citizens".
