Seems like the Feds are going to gin up some charges only to drop them a few weeks later, as they have done in LA, Chicago, and other places.

"a single person of this demographic may have committed a crime, therefore we must punish the entire demographic" is a policy response you may recognize from fascist governments dedicated to ethnic cleansing elsewhere.
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

Love the new protected bike lane in NE Minneapolis—in the last 15 years of living in this neighborhood, I never thought I’d see the day I’d bike Lowry Ave. Now we can! We need to imagine good things, because they can materialize with vision and hard work!

After action reviews are honestly no longer enough. It tells the cops shoot now, ask questions later. It’s how Minneapolis is BURIED in millions of dollars of police settlements. It’s how journalists and Soren Stevenson lost full fucking eyeballs. Welcome to Hell St Paulites.
Carter said he stood by the city's police department, and Police Chief Axel Henry maintained his department did not violate the city’s separation ordinance.

Carter said Henry has begun a full review of the use of force during Tuesday’s response.

Earlier this week, I saw goldenrod, butter and eggs, and creeping bellflower with new blooms and now we have 10 straight days of below freezing weather forecasted.

Looking for advice about wage law. My son just realized that his employer hasn't been paying the new Minneapolis minimum wage. He works part time (10 hours a week) and none of his coworkers have gotten the raise, either.

Texas has been aiming to have zero deaths on its roadways for as long as I remember.

I wondered if we'd ever gotten close.

Nope turns out it's 10 or so people a day like clockwork.

We haven't had a death free day since before George W Bush got elected president.
It's a classically American thing to say, "But can we really afford to make cars safer?"

Again, many Americans have decided that 40,000 roadway deaths a year is fine and dandy.

almost 150 years ago we invented the phone.

the latest innovation has been to uninvent it, by inventing the phone tree, customer service center, etc.

i now drive miles to talk to people whom, thirty years ago, i’d have conveniently phoned. it’s increasingly the only way to talk to a capable human.

Folks in New England are waking up to temps below freezing. It's a reminder that winter brings times of greatest stress to the power grid.

Offshore wind farms could keep the lights when gas plants are underperforming. But Trump has prevented all but five projects from moving forward.

NEW from me👇
Feel the cold? Offshore wind alleviates grid woes in winter, study…
A sector despised by President Trump can boost grid reliability on the East Coast when people crank up the heat and gas plants are tested by extreme…

Minneapolis and Minnesota need to regulate robotaxis, now.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.
