Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.

My home builder keeps asking my opinion on paint colors and I have to keep reminding them that I'm *still* colorblind.

genuinely cannot recommend following Ken enough, if you've ever wanted to learn every detail of sliding down an ice chute at a million miles an hour on a tiny sled he's got you

this is what the Olympics is all about
A quick thread on the issues at the start in both men's and women's luge this week.
Hey Ken, I noticed in the luge, the start is really tricky, you have to be to nearly all the way to the right of the track, but avoid hitting the wall on the start.

Is this poor track design?

Or is it supposed to be this way for a challenge?

Can I offer up two adulting tricks that I didn't learn until I was old?

You can clean your various lint traps by collecting a tiny bit of lint and using it to collect the rest of the lint.

And, two:
Use your vacuum cleaner brush attachment to clean your bathroom *before* you use anything wet.

I'm seriously considering renting a skid steer and clearing the ice piles on my street. Or at least consolidating them into one big pile in front of my house like the wall in the North.

Had to go to the new home build to indicate where I want all the electrical outlets and lights. While there, I mentioned to my builder that I want to hire whoever plowed my driveway.

He said, "They aren't for hire."
I asked, "You're friends?"
"They're me, so yes. I only plowed it so we can work."

A long time ago, I was working as a software maintenance developer and this Navy Captain walks up to my desk and says, "You're Jeff? I sent you a virus."

*incredulous* ... but ... *glaring* But, why?!

"I didn't want it in *my* inbox. My staff tells me you can fix it," he tells me.

*heavy sigh*

On Mercury, you'd get celebrate your birthday not once, but twice a day, every day! A solar day (from noon to noon) is longer than a year (one lap around the Sun) on Mercury. One day there lasts 176 Earth days, while one Mercurian year is exactly half as much at 88 Earth days. (1/3)

Non-smokers won't understand this, but every once in a while you get a cigarette that's sweet like it's sugar-coated.

It won't be the whole cigarette. It's just a brief thing, but it's really neat-o when it happens.

It's been 30 or so years since I've read the Bible, but in every scene I can imagine, except the garden of Eden, all I can picture is a desert. In fact, whenever I picture anything in BC up to about 1100s, it's all desert all the time. I don't start picturing forests until like, Robin Hood.

Here’s Duke behavioral economist Dan Ariely asking Jeffrey Epstein for “the name and email of the redhead that was here with you.” This is four years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring a child for prostitution.

I grew up with "domesticated" geese. As a child growing up with geese, you develop the ability to grab a goose by the head as it attacks you and this really upsets the goose which is when you learn that you can carry a goose by its head as long as you keep it at arm's length.

I'm trying to learn Python at the same time I learn Manim *and* mathematical modelling and it is NOT going well. I keep coming up with ideas of things I care about that I can model and as soon as I start, I realize that I've got knowledge gaps and they aren't *simple* gaps.
