The last of the monster romances I listened to. This one wasn’t bad, about a woman who can resist the magic of a vampire. 🌶️📚💙

George is a U.S. veteran who served in Iraq. Last July, he was detained by ICE for days without due process or the ability to call his family.

He was betrayed by his own country, which he fought so hard for—which he still fights for today.

This is not the America we believe in.

The latest iternation of the Protect Children's Innocence Act dangerously conflates trans health care with female genital mutilation and cutting. That has made it more difficult to pass laws trying to actually stop FGM/C, an extreme form of gender violence.

And if you want to know why I think this is a bust, it’s because I’ve spent most of this year dealing with the Indian archives’ absolutely catastrophic AI transcriptions which are also used to catalogue huge troves of sources, leaving them UNUSABLE
Gemini’s ability to read handwritten archival documents has importance beyond the humanities. It opens new frontiers for scientific research and collaboration with the humanities.

This...looks terrible? Is the magazine making some point about what AI still can't do, because otherwise, I don't get why you'd go out with something that looks like it was put together with safety scissors and Elmer's Glue.

One thing I will hand to Caldwell, though, is that he is truly respectable racism's most gifted ideologue. It's uncanny the way he can make rank bigotry seem appealing to folks who don't know where this shit originates or where it's headed.

I love it how "respectable" conservatives can talk about the need to foster and protect ancient, quasi-biological civilizational essences in the paper of record but calling this view "racist" is beyond the pale.

If only there were some history we could draw on to show us where this leads.
