I suspect there's a lot to be learned from the decline of the British Empire here. As time went on, colonialism became less and less profitable. Private companies would extract all the wealth by pillaging resources, leaving the British government to foot the bill for occupation & administration.

I know there is research on this but I promise you that puppets as SEL teachers are always going to work in a classroom. Kids have a totally different relationship with puppets than they do each other. It is almost unbelievable to see but it’s incredible.

I use an Abby Cadabby puppet as part of our daily routine in 2nd grade music class.

Kids at the start of 2nd grade: “that’s for babies!!”

Kids in 4th grade, still totally emotionally dependent on Abby: “ONE ABBY HUG WOULD FIX MEEEEEEEE”

This is the type of thing that I want my statewide-elected and federal officials to push back against. We are seeing the creation of a pretext for bringing in troops in real time and no one with the power to get an audience is standing up for us to tell America all of it is a fiction.

Morristown is like 20 minutes away from my hometown. Spent a lot of time in Morristown growing up, swimming at their Y.
I know the story is going around. This is Morristown, New Jersey. Half an hour from Newark Airport. Its on the hinterlands of New York City. It's a fight I know ICE isn't ready for.

Also, this is People magazine. It's as normal supermarket America as it gets. Let's hope this lights something.
