He’s a Padre forever in my heart. Him throwing across the diamond to McGriff was when I first discovered him and started mimicking that legendary swing. I was fortunate to track down several of his rookie cards when he was with the Brewers!

I was thinking last night how maybe the salary floor could be a flat number ($50M) plus a % of avg revenue earned over prev 5 years so it adjusts for teams in smaller markets. But I soon realized that they’d likely just price people out of tickets so they could lower revenues and beat the system.

That was a great series. I’m not sure 2001 will ever be beat given the walkoff G7 win and obviously what happened a couple of months before but this one is up there for me.
