Speaking as a parent, none of us knows what the hell we’re doing. None of us *knows* best. So instead we just *do* our best, and when you don’t know what to do, you should listen to the experts.
This is why I wholly reject the “a parent always knows what’s best for their child” argument because in many cases they absolutely do not
