you don't understand. as someone who isn't inherently good at art, stealing paintings from the museum is the *only* way i'm able to express myself creatively. i wouldn't be able to paint beautiful portraits. but by breaking into a museum and stealing the paintings, now i am
Amphibians Strong Together!

Seriously, though, I had no idea axolotls were so popular. I had several people ask me what I was, and one guy referred to me as "Pikachu".
Oh, neither of those is me! It's a shame I didn't run into them
I was lovin' it, please respond
I lived mas, please respond
When you’re here your family, please respond
I think I get why people like saunas. I spent three hours this afternoon in an inflatable costume in the sun, so hot that the plastic face screen fogged up and I wondered if I would pass out, but now I feel great. Just so clean and calm.
Greetings, fellow pink axolotl! I was in Boston
Aw, is Bari Weiss disappointed that we weren't actually screaming and crying?

The protest in Boston was like a dance party. Like, people having fun and supporting each other and cheering. Just really good energy.
“so called ‘No Kings’” and queezed in “Hate America rallies” just for funsies
Anyway, if you see a picture of someone dressed as a pink axolotl, let me know
I was there in my little spot, and I had no idea it was this big!
MSNBC captured the crowd from the Boston "No Kings" rally:
People like to be consistent. It's less effort to sign a petition for a good cause than to donate money, so that's where you start. No Kings is like that: a relatively low-effort, low-risk, and fun way to stand up for democracy that will hopefully prime people to do more if the need arises.
I'm reminded of a study I read about in an intro psych class. When researchers went door to door asking for donations for a good cause, they got some money, but when they did so a week or two *after* going door to door asking for people to sign a petition for the cause, they raised much more.
No Kings on Boston Common was a lot of fun! I think I missed my calling as a mascot
Axolotl time!

Their handle sucks. If they weren't verified, there'd be no way to tell them apart from parody accounts. I don't even want to dunk on their posts.

If we all block them, will they think bsky is deserted? Let's find out!
It's pathetic how many of these accounts are <name of department>.bsky.social and don't use their .gov domain as their handle.

If they weren't verified by BSky, I'd have assumed they were parodies or trolls
Handy dandy list of all the federal government accounts that just showed up on bsky

And I love that the cool US gov't accounts are excluded from this list
I'm not in NYC, but if I were, this article would make me vote for Mamdani even harder
When I read Veblen in high school I felt so vindicated because I too really fucking hated lawns. Particularly front lawns that no one uses for anything, not even playing frisbee occasionally or whatever
