Recent rent hike bill just perfectly showcases that FFG will never actually meaningfully tackle the housing crisis.

They support it! In their heart of hearts, Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Lowry independents support a worsening housing crisis. It benefits a large chunk of them personally ffs!

The only thing this govt is capable of is bending over backwards to American corporations omg. Lives utterly upturned and the only thing they'll do is a quick visit and "Sorry yeah, flood relief isn't exactly profitable for us, is it?".

Disgrace
The Government cannot "wave a magic wand and just deliver" flood relief schemes, Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said, as he visited affected homes and businesses in Co Wexford

Yeah you were right, our politicians, all the big tech guys who are also surveilling us 24/7, they're all paedos. Also the government is massively overreaching its powers to kill civilians and squash protest. Isn’t this the time you rise up and start opposing some of this or what lol

it is notable to me, in the context of debates on Irish neutrality and security, that Ireland's first Islamic terror attack – the stabbing of Fr Paul Murphy by a teenager at Renmore Barracks – was motivated in part by Ireland's involvement in this mission
Re-sharing this important article by Fionn Wallace in @Rundale_Media to give an insight into what EU-led 'peacemaking' missions involve - the kinds of missions many more Irish Defence Forces will be sent on if the Triple Lock is removed.

The Triple Lock and the Case of Ireland in Mali - Rundale
The EU-led neo-colonial war in Mali and the Sahel is a stark example of why the Triple Lock should be strengthened if we are to preserve meaningful neutrality heading into an uncertain future.

Whenever flooding hits, we hear in detail all about the wrecked homes, livelihoods, property, and related misery.

But NEVER the major cause: that Ireland has been totally stripped of the native ecosystems like forest & bogs that would naturally have absorbed the water.

Flooding is only going to get more extreme as climate breakdown worsens.
It's so important that we don't let the most clueless people try to fix this by dredging and channelling...it only makes flooding worse but does make it look like there's lots of work being done.

From ICE to Gaza, Palantir is complicit in violent US hegemony. Why do we keep giving it contracts?

🔴 VICTORY!

The European Parliament has voted for The Left's request to refer the Mercosur agreement to the ECJ.

A blow to this treaty, which is destructive to agriculture, the climate, and health.

All those who wrongly believe that nature collapse might be 'sad', but won't really affect them in any way, badly need to wake up.

Nature isn't just 'nice to have'.

Planet Earth is only liveable – for *us* too – due to the regulating effects of natural ecosystems.

In Scotland, people are (very rightly) unhappy that only 4% natural woodland cover remains.

Spare a thought for poor Ireland, at around a mere 1%.

Nowhere else on Earth is in such desperate need of rewilding.
Where are the trees?
We have A LOT of this landscape and less than 4% native woodland. This should be a rich mosaic of habitats, moor, bog, woodland, montane scrub…We force it to remain in this artificial state. We don’t need to give every inch of our uplands over to sheep, grouse and deer stalking.
