My 4th grader is in an accelerated class & her teacher wants them to participate with the 5th graders as they read The Hunger Games. Since we're in Shithole FL, she had to get parents' permission. I'm so glad my kid is getting this type of education and it's not all on me as a parent.
Adding to this video — readers should also be able to assess the author’s purpose for writing. That ability seems to be at an all-time low too.

Oh this guy is always snagging folks. He got one lady who called in to report an employee at Target who was Spanish speaking. She asked the lady where something was, the lady walked her over to it. She got what she needed then went home and called the ICE hotline. That whole call was wild.
Kindergarten teacher called a prank ICE hotline thinking it was real. She called to report her 6 year old student to ICE to try to get them and their family deported.
