IGN is paying attention to censorship again. Use their momentum, call visa and mastercard, tell them you read the article, ask them why they're censoring legal stuff

reminder that you don't need to know specifics of what's at play. It's often better to sound like a normie

As an author who has previously made almost no money selling books and as someone on disability so I can barely afford to live as it is...

Disabled people are so excluded from living life thanks to ableism in society that they should get a free pirating pass tbh.

my income is only books and another similar art in a different field, but definitely no day job, so this does not apply to me, but i think my trot is to acknowledge that this is very very rare and that while talent and persistence matter the most important factor of me being here is luck
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

No not even as a joke. don't go near this shit.
In Morrow County, healthy adults were coming down with unexplained medical conditions, including diseases that usually afflicted the elderly.

In a survey of 30 homes, at least 25 miscarriages and a half dozen people living with one kidney were reported.

Went looking for COVID19 death statistics recently:

Estimating excess mortality due to the COVID-19 pandemic: a systematic analysis of COVID-19-related mortality, 2020–21
The full impact of the pandemic has been much greater than what is indicated by reported deaths due to COVID-19 alone. Strengthening death registration systems around the world, long understood to be ...

This one is a stretch, but... The official Star Trek: The Next Generation murder mystery game was likely to serve as a prequel to an unreleased VHS game Star Trek: The Next Generation - Borg Q-Uest.

It also predicted a major part of Deep Space Nine's storyline entirely on accident.

I want to give shout-outs to every one of the editors at Anime Herald. Y'all are rock stars.

@arhenderson.bsky.social, @mashazart.bsky.social, @ellyberries.bsky.social, @trentlcannon.bsky.social,
@lydiarivers.bsky.social, @pixelatedlenses.bsky.social, and Kerine Wint
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

In Playstation All Stars Battle Royale, certain alternate costumes had slightly different hitboxes. Playing as Sir Dan in anything but his default costume was a bad idea.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

In Playstation All Stars, moves would change properties depending on if you were playing with a HDMI connection or RGY/Scart connections due to the lower frame rate of EU TV's.

This meant some attacks/combos would have a smaller hitbox on the 50hz connection because it skipped active frames.

At one point in the 1990s, approximately 1 in 4 people with HIV were AIDS denialists

They believed HIV didn’t cause AIDS

They refused the drugs. Refused precautions

You don’t hear about them much anymore because they all died

RFK Jr peddled the narrative back then & he’s still peddling it today

“They can’t do that! The ADA protects you!”

People love to say this when you tell them you’ve been discriminated against or mistreated for being disabled

Just because someone technically shouldn’t do something, doesn’t mean they won’t

Dealing with discrimination is a part of being disabled

It's extremely depressing that anime went from a more obscure medium to front and center mainstream during my lifetime, but this translated to the medium transitioning from "for fans by fans" to pure exploitative capitalism with us as the captive audience
