Folklore walks. Not just across imagined lines on maps of nations, not just across time itself. Folklore instinctively walks towards landmarks. When stories see a ruin, a notable tomb or impressive tree, they travel towards them to tether themselves in the landscape. – Dr. M. Benn #Folklore

Once again a reminder: We can have trans rights, bodily autonomy, gender nonconformity, and freedom of expression, or we can have none of these things.

There’s no third option.

Goo morning, monsters.

The name you had, it doesn’t matter. A gift you had not asked for. It can be cast off like a shed. You know what you are called, a truth rising from your magnificent bones.

We report: in the depths of bog country, the will-o’-the-wisps of distant city lights are keeping the sky three shades above full darkness. This is not enough light to observe the night life we hear, no matter how much we squint. We still think we see things move above the water.

Day 17 of #HooklandChristmasTree decoration. Now’s the time for the King of Beggars poppet with his dented copper crown, tin bowl to gather mercy from us all. In this season his pavement majesty has power to bestow blessing or the coldest of curses. Remember well the ragged folk.

New Alice Isn’t Dead?!
Alice Isn’t Dead sequel?!
In 2026?!
Titled as Don’t Tell Alice?!
Reprising the themes of secrecy vs intimacy/community that were an essential part of the original series?!
That’s so cool, I’m so normal about this, this isn’t gonna occupy my mind for the next 4 months! (lying)

There's a Hookland dialect word - greenhole – used to describe the powerful attraction of a dark way into the woods. 'Going down the greenhole' is usually reserved for that moment when the path ahead intensifies into a tunnel-like pitch and yet you know won't turn back. – #MattAdams, 1982 #WOTD

Rob Reiner: I'm going to make a coming of age drama, a fantasy adventure story, a romantic comedy, a psychological horror and then a courtroom drama.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

Goo morning, monsters.

There are so many small cracks in the world. Tiny, unnoticed, threaded voids, spaces within and between spaces. Enough room for you to collect yourself. A sliver that is yours, a place to grow.

We report: the Geminid meteor shower peak has come around again. Like a tired running joke, though the sky was clear, it pulled a blanket onto itself in the evening, fair, understandable, so would we. The stars we see stay still, which is fine. We hope to see them fall next year.
