In an ideal world i would absolutely support AD, but our world is not there yet.

Nothing has radicalised me more on this issue than listening to Disabled Canadians recounting their experiences
I will be the first to admit I couldn’t understand why anyone would oppose Assisted Dying… and then I became disabled and had it “offered” to me.

It’s not compassionate when there’s coercion.

It’s not dignified when it’s offered in lieu of care.

Listen to disabled people.

This is just a reminder that I wrote a trilogy that ends with the icy blond lawyer fiancee, who got dumped for the hot small town tree farmer in the first book, road tripping to the ex's wedding with a fake girlfriend (and there's only one bed).
You can buy all three!

If you're not trans, please take a couple of minutes to skim through the linked blog post.

It's an overview of (some of) the questions trans kids and their parents will have to through, just to participate in the NHS puberty blocker trial.

I won't make any further comment here.

I read this and thought, "I wonder what happened to milk bars", did some googling, and discovered that the National Milk Bar which I'd always assumed was a huge UK-wide chain was only ever like 17 cafes in Wales and the North-West.

Lots of fun graphs in this thread! (I wonder if the bump for “fay” in the 1930s is because of Fay Wray?)
Following up on this idea: Here's the first take, comparing fairy, faerie, fey, fay, fae.

other than Catherine Greenen-Thrush's Quest of the Faes (1985, seems likely to be an independent early outlier), thus far it seems like the genesis of the term may be White Wolf's Changeling: The Dreaming in 1995?
This has brought up a question I actually don't know - when did the specific form "the fae" become so popular in English?

OED has "Faerie" going back to Spenser, "fey" as "fairylike" in 1823, and there's obviously "Morgan le Fay" from French, but can't find much for "the fae" til quite recently!

OMG this sounds great!
As promised, here is the cover for Muñeca, out June of 2026!

Described thusly: A vivid, surreal Gothic about a queer, Latine, working class witch who sets out to rescue a bespelled heiress and loses control of her powers and her heart in the process.
