Lots of social scientific evidence shows the "Christianity" of Christian nationalism is much more than that.

homeschooled alumni have been saying this, and it's bad

Been in the homeschool reform movement for seven years, was a homeschooled kid for much longer. I can tell you that this smugness is baked into homeschool culture.

Far too often, parents who homeschool are more obsessed about controlling their child than they are about actually caring for them.

This kind of travesty is made possible through extremely lax homeschool laws, which allow abuse parents like these to disappear their kids and cut off their access to any official or professional who could spot a problem and intervene.

Mississippi 48th overall for child well-being. I think they should be worried about other things.

Dobson is probably responsible for much of the child abuse in the Southern Baptist ecosystem. Good riddance.

the US profoundly needs a children's rights movement. children are not property... they deserve opportunity and learning and autonomy and security.... and our country just does not acknowledge this

But the parents are so lost they don’t even realize that it’s not the classes that changed your kid, it was separation from YOU. No gender studies, sociology, or history class could ever accomplish what three months of not having to live with your bullies will do.
