Trying to claim Seth Meyers show is “illegal” because it’s anti Trump

Illegal is the murders occurring in international waters

Illegal is cutting off food assistance

Illegal is refusing to swear in Adelita Grijalva

Might as well make this clear now for people who haven't known me on social media for around a decade:

I do not center non-Autistic people when talking about Autisticness. I do not particularly care what non-Autistic people think about Autisticness, except insofar as it harms Autistic people.

Whether they're blaming vaccines and Tylenol, or selling dubious "remedies," what they're really doing is promoting the perception that families (and especially mothers) can prevent and treat Autism. And thus also the perception that people with Autism and their families don't need social support.

Medically complex and disable children shouldn’t be bargaining chips, period.

This outrageous act by #immigration officials is inexcusable and ultimately led to the separation of this 5-year-old autistic girl from Massachusetts 😡
ICE held 5-year-old autistic girl in Massachusetts to pressure father to surrender, family says
The girl's father, Edward Hip, has lived in the United States for the last 22 years, according to his wife.

the houselessness i experienced this summer has made me realize how much both (un)affordable housing and growing up in an unsafe home has touched me throughout my life. now living in a safe space with my partner and cat, i’m so grateful to have somewhere my own to rest my weary head.

Many people would agree that people can behave racist unknowingly or inadvertently

Behaving ableist & eugenicist is no different

This is not wrong or controversial at all
If people behave racist, I can use that label to describe them

If people behave homophobic or transphobic,I can use that label to describe them

If people behave misogynistic,I can use that label to describe them

Nothing controversial ab using ableist & eugenicist to describe ppl behaving that way
I do feel that calling people who don’t want to wear a mask in public eugenicists is a step too far. I get you want to be controversial to spread your message but, man, that’s just silly.

It’s not a double standard this *is* their standard.

Speech for them not for us.
Violence for us not for them.

The sooner we understand this the better.

Disabled people are 11 times more likely to die during labor/in the postpartum period than non-disabled people. Better education and smashing ableism is how we get out of this horrible stat.

For the past year, I’ve been looking into the topic of disability and pregnancy for @motherjones.com 🧵
Pregnancy is a minefield when you're disabled
Few OB-GYNs get disability training—and their disabled patients are far likelier to die.

The Department of Energy is trying to get rid of accessibility requirements for new construction via rulemaking. This unprecedented move, which seems to be illegal, could be the blueprint for other federal agencies to follow. New from me at @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
The Department of Energy is quietly slashing disability rights

A lot of people who keep saying “but people who are really disabled will be fine” are about to find out that “disabled” is a real schrodinger's cat type of label where you’re disabled for the purposes of elimination targeting and able-bodied for the purposes of benefits

There's a reason you see more about abled parents advocating on behalf of their Disabled children and it's not because Disabled adults don't exist or don't organize or don't self-advocate.

It's because abled people don't like hearing from Disabled folks ourselves.

Sometimes in life, you don't get to decide IF you're going to fight, just how. That's where we're at right now, as a society of people who mostly don't want any of this to happen.

They have brought this fight to our door, and now all we can do is knuckle up or get beat down.
