All day yesterday, as I braced for disappointment, I repeated this quote to myself.

To all of you hopeful fighters, good morning. You won a round.
I grew up a the end of a tomato field. I waited for the school bus and watched these *extremely skilled* workers plant, weed, and harvest tomatoes. If anything, they should be paid *more*, and offered more protections as climate change makes their work more hazardous.
As Thanksgiving nears, US Dept of Labor is attempting to reduce migrant farmworker wages up to $7/hr. Workers will lose $2.46 B annually in wages. Public comment period open a few more days. @ufw.bsky.social has made it super easy to support workers at link (plus short background 🧵)
Take action to stop Trump Admin’s H2A proposal which could slash wages for farm workers

I am ready to go beyond implication and say after reading the facts here that one of the most recognizable people working in the White House almost certainly had ICE arrest her nephew's mother as a favor to her brother
This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."

3 days ago, I'd never touched a 3D printer in my life. Last night, thanks to the @wawhistles.bsky.social group, I printed the first 2 whistles.

Philly has the 1st 2 whistles with the Juntos.org rapid response number on it.

Please repost and get in touch if you want to help!

Dems need to keep repeating it, and they need to say what mean. “You can refuse illegal orders,

examples of illegal orders are: intentionally harming or targeting civilians, engaging in unauthorized domestic LE actions, falsifying records, or anything else that clearly violates the US constitution”

I joined Sea Scouts in 1989. In 1988, CA Girl Scouts had moved under the Scouting USA umbrella. The reason?
Our insurance dropped us because Sea Scout activities were deemed too risky for girls.

And this was possible because in 1977, BSA opened up to girls.

CONFIRMED: HPV vaccine prevents cervical cancer.

“Girls vaccinated before age 16 were 80% less likely to develop cervical cancer. The reviews also confirm that HPV vaccines are only likely to cause minor, transient side effects such as a sore arm.”

Ever have colposcopy? That pain is NOT transient.
Two new Cochrane reviews show strong and consistent evidence that HPV vaccines are effective in preventing cervical cancer and pre-cancerous changes, especially when given to young people before they are exposed to the virus.

The destruction of the federal government disproportionately affects black women. The federal civil service has long been a good career option because of the strong equal opportunity enforced in the civil service that has historically blunted the double discrimination that black women face.
Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

If you pull out the weird squooshy fruit in the drawer tonight, you can have some delightful shrubs by Thursday.

My friend @dietsch.bsky.social wrote two books about them. Apple/cranberry is always in my winter fridge. food52.com/story/11893-...

I handed out neighbor-printed whistles in Flatbush tonight and it was lovely. New Yorkers in motion do not EVER stop to chat but for this, they did.

One church lady in a fancy hat gleefully took a whistle and told me she’d “blow they icy asses outta her town,” then apologized skyward for swearing.
With ICE and border patrol goons spreading out across the country, I put together a resource guide for buying, printing, and distributing whistles, based on my own experience. Now is the time to whistle up, hope this helps. dansinker.com/posts/202…

Just clap our hands, & jump in to a project where we don’t need permission. Just sweet, sweet logistics, creativity & chatting.

The Department of Education is proposing a definition that could strip nurse practitioners and CRNAs of “professional degree” status.

Chiropractors keep it. Nurses risk losing it. And that change would fall hardest on women in healthcare.

This is political and it is sexist.
