In an alarming development, it appears the UK Government covered up a massive spike in trans youth suicides after restrictions.

Then covered it up again when caught.

Now, after fighting for years, the data is public: trans suicide increased 5x in the country.

Trans Youth Suicides Skyrocketed In UK After Care Drawdown; Government Covers It Up

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

JD Vance's Conservative MP bestie, Jamil Jivani, seems to be going rogue.

Yesterday, in a video with no CPC branding, Jivani announced a trip to the U.S. to help Canada get a trade deal.

But uh, I don't think anyone asked him for this.

So why is he doing it?

My guess: he wants Poilievre's job.

the thing is that the idea that "there are universal rights that everyone should have, and that states should always protect" is a liberal idea. Conservatives have never believed that; the conservative project has *always* been about creating a category of people that rights don't apply to.
Going to be a lot of hand-wringing about hypocrisy but I think a lot of supposed conservatives were always pretty clear that they meant *people we like* get to carry guns, protest, and have due process rights, and people we don't like are outside that

It bears repeating, at a moment when we are all too aware of the powerlessness of young people, that the mission of public libraries to treat *everyone* as a patron, regardless of age—to grant children civic standing through the library card—exemplifies *real* democracy. 📚

Listen. The average person just doesn’t need training to know that it’s wrong to kill people.

This is not some big complex problem that requires expertise to get right. If ICE is killing people, it’s from a lack of morality, not a lack of knowledge.

If I see you use this word, I'll block you. If you use it "satirically" I'll block you. Using it at all today is a really fine test of character.

I've had some of my books edited because I used it twenty years ago and I'm ashamed today of having used it.
