Judging by my email inbox, Amazon really didn't like me switching most of my ebook purchases to Kobo right after the no more adding to Kindle ereaders by USB downloads change.

And where shopping at small businesses can still mean giving money to the most immoral dregs of humanity and not having a clue until someone they're abusing financially (wage theft included) manages to get a lawyer. IF the newspaper dares print anything about it, IF they still have a local reporter.

And you can still be mostly transitioned over and have reasons to keep a minor presence somewhere.

No one in my family is moving off Facebook. It's the one place I am Legal Name. There is an in-law who ran off in a Cut All Ties situation and that is my ONLY source of news. Not completely leaving!

That's us with the little things, too. Computer upgrades, my writing supplies ahead, I have my weekly planners through the Jan 2026 scheduled leave date, checked on minor equipment, etc.

I imagine the matching spending drop going to hit in weird ways re predictable kid milestone supplies/gifts.

And it's also possible for the styles that can't hide the hardware necessary (thin metal, translucent plastic, etc) to surge in popularity because no one has to wonder or ask.

I need to get my eyes checked and when I pick frames I'm definitely getting something that can't hide electronics.

I was looking forward to a few specific things for Switch 2. Seeing the actual previews made us decide against the system for now entirely since every one of them that doesn't run on Switch 1 was graphically intense in a bad way. And I don't mean something YouTube video conversion would have caused.

This term is really showing how much the federal laws DEPEND on the dueling jurisdictions keeping each other in line.

The companies who made my apartment had to deal with FOUR tiers of regulations that can Oh No You Can't each other - town, county, state, federal.

He's got ONE, and it's him.

It's one of those things that's fun if everyone around is in on it and not so much if somebody isn't.

(They fit neatly in a particular size of DIY clear globe ornament and can come in rainbow assortment, ask my Easter tree that mysteriously didn't come down until the end of June how I know.)

I got the results back from The Scary Pending Tests that I slightly mentioned last week and it's not any of the scariest options.

I am now happily playing New Pokemon as part of the response to 'it is probably mostly stress, no really we have the bloodwork for anything else back'.

There's an extremely high chance my asthma got as bad as it did prediagnosis bc in TN I was treated 'as if you were asthmatic' with pill steroids for respiratory illnesses pre-ACA.

And then the ACA happened but was under threat, and now docs in MA have forgotten the Keep Patients Insured tricks.

One of Lexington's two locations both times has been named "It Started Here".

Ever since mid-April, it's been near-constant alternating between national news and local-ish 250th anniversaries of the lead-up to the Declaration.

The protest closest to where my parents grew up, which is in a very red town in a very red county, probably drove a lot of business to the THIRD OF RESTAURANTS WITHIN A MILE run by people who aren't white serving food that didn't come from Europe. Half of those Hispanic.

2) Passing The Peace with the kind of people who think there should be few boundaries of physical affection in families, and include their siblings in Christ in that.

3) Post-service eats and sensitivities to everything, as people INSIST.

Four Seasons Total Landscaping happened while I was on the way to the ER with sodium-deficiency and the start of symptoms of dehydration from getting heatsick off of it. No treatment, just waiting and cardiac eval. Missed the entire party with my GA high school and college classmates on Facebook.

Posting debunking in volume using similar wording but the real answer with more variety in language is enough to do that.

I ran into that one time I didn't catch that a search engine AI response wasn't the sample of a webpage. It confidently made the easy mistake a human would immediately catch.

Same thing with taxis.

Our local service which has more than earned our loyalty over the years would prefer lower tip but cash over slightly more through a card because of the interchange fees.

If you've got the option, cash.

My favorite was the time I got yelled at for taking my shoes off when I'd already had it done since before ID check bc hi I have issues getting my shoes off unsupported while being shouted at.

Second was the time I sliced my hand on a bin and the only change was I stopped being yelled at.

The cities, even the minor ones, are where everyone from the most rural areas is already used to going at least a couple of times a year for things you can't get at small local stores and government services like that DMV. So of course people congregate with signs there.

Pretty sure a lot of people protesting in Morristown, TN in June and on Saturday are there to start with because of the Bean Station raid the last time. But Bean Station isn't visible from the main road and everyone goes to Morristown because of the DMV.

This was my relaunch when I tried to get Spouse into it.

Can't even remember what season I needed for the missing fish and I'm pretty sure at least one bug.

Also I had to switch phones this summer and didn't transfer Pocket Guide at all yet so no shooting star seed until I get that done.
